      Hiya ya’ll. I couldn’t make it this morning, but glad to be here now. I’ve thrown away most of the myths about being ‘old’ after working in healthcare for years. I’ve seen ‘old’ 40 year olds, and young 98 year olds. It seems to mostly be attitude to me.

      Good Afternoon all!! Have many was first scared of getting old when my first daughter graduated, then my health going down, grey hair, and becoming a grandma, have all definitely made me feel aged! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Obviously, it is the men’s health issue. However, it is not just man’s problem, as the whole family would be dealing with its devastation.

    The trend that is being in force in life at this point โ€“ more and more of young men are getting serious prostate issues. It is no longer a disease for 65-year-old men and older.

    Just some of the Reasons that are listed to be reasons for prostate issues:

    – Sedantary lifestyle
    – Studies indicate that the two faulty genes – BRCA 1 and BRCA 2 – which are important risk factors for breast cancer and ovarian cancer, have also been implicated in prostate cancer risk.
    – Diet void of a balanced vegetable intake.
    Basically, if a person is avoiding plant-based and fresh diet, it is a more chance to develop prostate disease.
    – Obesity
    A study found a clear link between obesity and raised prostate cancer risk, as well as a higher risk of metastasis and death among obese people who develop prostate cancer.

    – Agent Orange
    “Veterans exposed to Agent Orange have a 48% higher risk of prostate cancer recurrence following surgery than their unexposed peers, and when the disease comes back, it seems more aggressive,” researchers say.

      I found it interesting that the prostate gland starts enlarging at the age of 25. That is not what I would have expected. My dad was a Marine, I will have to show him this information.

      I informed a family member the other day that he was 1 year away from the recommended age for a prostate exam, given his family history and his diet. I had no idea a man’s eyes could widen that much!! LOL. I saw pure panic…….but after a little chat, he agreed he’d get checked. I’ve lost two loved ones to prostate cancer, I don’t want to lose anymore.

    Sexual Life plays an important role in our psychological and bodily health.

    Look at the infographic above!

    It shows that there are a lot of Natural and very easily attainable sources to maintain your sexual health:

    – Lifestyle changes: more physical movement, less smoking and drinking alcohol
    – Living in a more peaceful state of mind: meditation, mindful living
    – Supplements: Niacin, Potassium, L-arginine

    What the infographic is missing is the REITERATION —>

    We DO NOT need to wait til 65 to start making these changes. With mindful living and treating our lives with more respect, we could truly enjoy our living and graceful aging.

      well that sounds like a good thing to do and prepare for in our every day busy life I think it takes control over us it is up to us to stop and smell the rose

      Always need to be mindful of the future for sure. We need to think of things on a daily basis of how we can keep our mind body and soul healthy

      I found it very interesting that there are natural supplements you could take like Niacin, Potassium, and L-arginine. I had never heard that before. Stress seems to mess up everything in a persons body!

      I think our health and what we do to maintain it, affects all aspects of our quality of life in our later years.

      Think there are so many of us guilty of busy lives and not taking time to do the things should be doing, with my conditions now has made me more aware and scared as only 44 to be totally disabled is scary.

      This is in fact what a lot of people do is put exercise off and life changes til they are older. I do think that is change more and more now though.

    ARTHRITIS As a Way of Living These Days

    It’s aweful that a huge percentage of 18-44-year-old Americans are diagnosed with Arthritis. It is more than 3 in 10!

    Obviously, there are reasons that are beyond our control like genes.

    Since most forms of arthritis are inherited to some degree, there is no real way to prevent them.

    Arthritis that follows joint injury could be prevented by adhering to safety regulations and trying to avoid becoming injured.

    Arthritis related to infection (for examples, septic arthritis, reactive arthritis, Whipple’s disease) could be prevented by not becoming infected with the causative organism.

    What could be done to successfully managing this condition?

    And weight is connected to a healthy diet and active lifestyle.

    • my grandmother has been suffering from arthritis for many years, and she has always maintained a healthy BMI. I guess it’s genetic… let’s hope I skipped that gene.

      I strongly suggest glucosamine for anyone with arthritis. It’s genetic here, and the glucosamine changed everything, it’s a wonder supplement! I give it to hubby too. With all the broken bones he’s had over the years (Evel Kneivel has nothing on him!)…….he’s arthritic from head to toe. With the glucosamine, it doesn’t take over his life.

      Am dealing with this now as fractured my ankle 3 years ago and never healed no have arthritis and much pain with it.

      why I would say my grandson keeps his grannie moving and we do see the chripractor every week this has been so good to have this option and it helps me so much I don’t know where I would be with out it

      I try to walk , even if its around the house over and over. Hard to get outside sometimes but yes My Mommy is 83 and still kicking. She has always made sure she kept herself on the move…..

      Definitely not a myth on a high dose of D3 and Oscal and just had a dexiscan. Working on changing eating habits praying to help both weight and health ๐Ÿ™‚

      I was just thinking that my doctor has never told my to loose weight but every doctor has said I wore my body out. They said at age 32 I had the body of a 65 yr old. That was 13 yrs ago

    Your Brain Continues To Grow As We Advance in Age

    Here are your daily reminders that are emphasized in the infographic:

    1. Daily dose of Omega-3 DHA!
    When buying Omega-3 supplements, DO check the Ratios and Amounts of DHA vs APA.
    The approximate ratio between DHA and APA should be 1:3

    Do make sure that they list DHA Amounts in Milligrams. On those supplements where you do not find the exact amounts per serving, they’re hiding the true amounts of DHA —> which is What you need for your health benefits! The more DHA, the Better!

    2. Keep Your Mind Active!
    – Learn new skills
    – Do puzzles and crosswords
    – Read!

      I love doing crosswords. I love to play Scrabble here on the PC I make sure I keep my mind busy. Sometimes I do things that my kids have always been embarrassed about in regard to doing crazy physical type things…..rolling down grassy hills with the grandkids that type of thing ๐Ÿ™‚ Trying harder this year too . I need to mak a daily effort, thats what its all about….Daily No Matter What

    • I used to do lots of puzzles… the digital age has destroyed that for me. I should at least download that word find game I used to play on my tablet again…

      This reminded me to put Omega 3 supplements on my shopping list, we’re out! Part of hubby’s therapy is brain exercises, and puzzles, and I get the benefit of trying to come up with new ones for him. We’ve decided to try to learn a new language too, this should be interesting lol. Thank goodness for social media that allows me to interact with friends and family daily…..he gets anxious around most people, so we don’t socialize as much as we used to.
