Mother’s Love Is Everlasting And Penetrates Any Obstacles.
I Love You, MOM!

Mom, today I don’t have you beside me. But what I do have and nourish with every sunrise and every sunset is your everlasting LOVE.

This LOVE sustains me when it is rock hard to move forward. This LOVE cradles me within the depth of your soul when I feel alone and abandoned. I reach out with my heart to that place where I am ONE with YOU, where I am OK and truly happy.

The joy from knowing you and having met you on this Planet has been quite an experience and HONOR.

Thank you for bringing me into the World of Live and Living and Becoming ME. I owe you big time, MOM!

The knowing that  we are eternally connected and only a tidbit away from each other is a calming thought. I practice it. I remind myself to practice it as I am walking on the path of my destiny making.

Thank you to ALL Women who are MOMS to someone.

Let’s Celebrate and Know that we are all ONE.

At the end, Only LOVE REMAINS. And MOMS Are IT.

    • Hello and good morning… I’m a step-mom but it’s a tough relationship… not so much her with me but me with her.. She broke her dads heart and caused a lot of drama and now everything is supposed to “be okay” … so, while I do love her and care about her.. I feel very disconnected with the whole “mom” thing..
      #AMCoffee

      • how old is she? sometimes it takes a bit of maturing to realize how much a mother figure who is not blood related really means to you…

        • She came into my life at age 12.. she just turned 17.. Her father and I got married 2 years ago. From age 1-14, she lived with her mom and step-dad.. Her mom tossed her aside and forced her to move out and live with us. She didn’t argue.. said she wanted to live with us b/c her mom wasn’t a good mom and she hated her step-dad. After living with us for almost 2 years, she moved out and back with them. Mainly b/c she was mad we wouldn’t let her date a boy who was 17 and she was 14. Her mom and step-dad give her no boundaries now and she went behind her dads back and started dating the guy again.. Her grades went from A, B to C, D, F … she has a part-time job now too. She barely sees her dad or talks to him.. It’s just rough.
          #AMCoffee

        • She sees ME as a mother figure… I don’t … I feel love for her and care for her… but I’m so hurt and disturbed by her actions to her dad (a man she held on a pedestal) that I just don’t feel that “mom connection”
          #AMCoffee

          • wow! I hope it comes with time… I hope when she grows up, she’ll be able to view in hindsight that you were just looking out for her, and recognize her mistakes. I was a difficult teen (I’m closer in age to her probably – I’m 24) and I hurt my parents so bad. Now I have my own child and understand more. While this doesn’t happen to everyone (unfortunately some people never grow up) I hope she will get out of this and realize her mistakes, and maybe then you’ll be able to feel the mom connection. Step-children are such a tricky relationship… Good luck!

            • Thanks… hope so too.. just hurts b/c I never had a child.. my daughter died at birth and would be her same age… so I felt like she was the daughter I never got to have… then all this happened… 🙁

              #AMCoffee

I agree with the maturity thing. There is a lot of things I was mad at my mom for saying and as I got older I realized what she meant or how she acted.

      • Hello, I’m a mom to a beautiful little boy who is the pride and joy of my life. AS I’ve mentioned before in these threads 🙂 we had to wait some time for him he was not easy coming so he means that much more to us…

        • Rebecca Swenor says

They are always worth waiting for and I loved what you said. I can see your comment through your words. 🙂

      Hello and Good Morning!

I raised my sister’s son. My sister died of cancer. He is grown and moved away with children of his own now and an emergency responder.

Today I take care of four cats and a disabled husband. So I am still the IT Mom. Life is busy.

    • I am both a mom and a step mom. I have been there for theses kids even when their own moms were not. I have trouble getting threw to one of them and my husband knows what anguish I am going threw and at first he was very supportive and now he just brushes it off to the side because from this daughter she has 5 children and he says we are helping them not her. I get along with the other two just fine.

Gifts from their heart that I could never purchase are the best ever!

    • Karen Hinkle says

I wish my mom was still here I lost her at age 23 she was 49 when she passed she was the kind of mother who would do any thing for her children and was funny to she did have a hard life but she made due with what we had she had 6 children to take care of and it was hard with a father who was a drunk she did her best I only regret she never got to be a grandma to her grand children but I will say she is proud of her kids boy I miss her so much

    • I’d like to apologize to her for all the heartache I gave her as a teen, and to show her how much I truly love her and appreciate all she’s done for me, my 4 sisters and my 5 brothers. And to thank her for continuing on with motherhood by helping and being so involved with her grandchildren

    • Amanda Alvarado says

    • I’d think my mom for beinging my best friend and always being there for me. You are my hero. Even when I know I disappointed you, didn’t scold me, you just offered your advice.

    • Virginia Rogers says

My mom raised me as a single mom and was only child. She is literally my everything. Helps me, fights for me as unfortunately I have more disabilities that she does. She has been my sister, my best friend, the best grandmother helping me through raising my 2 daughter alone also for the last 18 years. and now a great-grandma. She truly is my everything, I would be lost with out her. No matter what god’s plan for either of us we definitely have that everlasting love bond the know we will always be together no matter what <3

    MOM’s Cooking Is The Best!

    – Please share with us your favorite moments – funny too – when your Mom taught you how to cook!
Or maybe you have your favorite Family recipe that has been handed down from one generation to the next? Please leave it here!

    • wendy c g says

My grandmother never let me near the kitchen when she was cooking. My mom did give me the cookbook from my grandmother, it’s very old. It has some of my favorite childhood recipes in it. I pretty much learned how to cook after I got married. My husband was the guinea pig for the first year of me learning to cook.

    • I never helped my mom in the kitchen – couldn’t stand cooking in someone else’s space. But here’s a favorite recipe, extremely unhealthy and delicious that I got from my mom and adapted to my own:

      Potato Kugel:
      5 lb potato, grated,
add 8 eggs, 3/4 cup oil, salt (can’t be measured – it’s kind of a heap on the palm of your hand) and pepper (also not measured – a smaller heap. Maybe a tablespoon)
Preheat oven to 375. Mix all ingredients together, pour into a 9×13 baking pan. Bake uncovered until you have a golden crispy crust. (about an hour or so). Best eaten fresh, freezes great! It’s the best comfort food!

I grate the potato using a food processor.

    • Amanda Alvarado says

My mom herself wasn’t much of a cook but I did learn the basics from her! How to scramble eggs, cook bacon, make hamburgers, etc! The rest has been trial and error!

    • I like when my mom would make deep dish pizza..she would let me eat some of the mix..it was a little treat.

    • I loved Christmas time..it ment NO BAKE COOKIES, RICE CRISPY TREATS, AND PEANUT BRITTLE

    • julie ferguson gould says

My mom never really had the time to teach us how to cook. My oldest sister is 10 yrs older than me . She tried to teach us some things the basics for the most part. Thank God my wife is the cook in the family 🙂

    • Virginia Rogers says

My mom never did a lot of cooking as she worked so much to support me, I spent many days with my grandma who passed 8 years ago. She taught me to cook, clean, manners and much more. My favorite memory was not when I was young but when I fist moved out to live with the girls dad, and we decided to have dinner for both our moms. Well we baked a turkey put out nice china, right before time for them to arrive pull out turkey and just started crying did not know what was wrong, well my ex is yelling hes taking back to store, I called my grandma and explained I took out and was no meat on it, my grandma never laughed so hard as she told me to flip the turkey over. Just a day we never forgot. Just one of many great memories with my grandma who was also my second mom. What a great topic, Happy Mother’s Day All which to most of us moms is everyday!!!! 🙂

    • Rebecca Swenor says

I remember when my mom and I made cinnamon rolls together. I had so much fun and I was like 10 to 12 years old. It was from a recipe from my moms aunt Mary. I don’t have it though. I was so proud that day and so was my mom of me. The rolls came out really good and at that time I wanted to be a baker when I got older. Needles to say I always ended up being the family baker for years after mom showed me how to read a recipe. I will treasure the memories for every. It was the way her eyes and smile were that I will always remember when she said she was proud of me.

    • Mandi Gilliam says

My mom taught me how to make deviled eggs and that’s about it. And I think we all know how to make them so I won’t go into the all the details. She taught me how to make a base chili for hotdogs but I do it all by eye and no measurements. But it is yummy!!! Also a secret lol!!!

    • Mandi Gilliam says

My mom also taught me how to burn bread in the oven, I don’t think we ever got rolls with dinner or garlic bread….. LOL!

    • Cynthia Dubuque says

My mom taught me how to use the smoke detector as a timer. For some reason, about 5 minutes before dinner was done, the smoke detector would go off. That was our sign to start setting the table.

    • Jessica Parent says

Hahaha-my momma was not the cook in our family 😉 I taught myself to cook with my betty crocker jr cookbook when I was 11 (I must have moms cooking genes though cuz all I can make is grilled cheese and scrambled eggs) Lol but I make the BEST eggs and grilled cheese ever 😀

    • Diana Smith Hill says

My mother worked. She rarely cooked and when she did it was amazing. lamb stew. She never taught me how to cook. Instead she relied on me to do things like fix the furnace, fix the washer etc. So I learned maintenance. Funny, it has come in very handy in life! I taught myself to cook later in life out of necessity.

    • My Mom tried to teach me how to cook, but she was so ill she was unable to teach me everything I needed to know so I had to learn threw trial and error. Error being the better of the two. I have served raw meat when I thought it was done, I have set a pot holder of fire during a Thanksgiving dinner at my home. And just plan made some very bad tasting food. Thank God my husband is a better cook then I.

  8. wendy c g says

Thank you for all you have done for me. Both my mom and mother in law are great. They have always been there to lend a helping hand. Happy Mother’s Day everyone.

    • Karen Hinkle says

hahah chicken for me I would watch her make it but when I got married I made chicken for my hubby so I cooked it and it was brown and crispy and served it well it was not done in the middle so there is a trick to cooking chicken lol but I can not make it like my mom did

  9. My mom didn’t so much teach me how to cook but more like… how not to cook! LOL

Being a MOM Figure to Someone Else – What Would Your Best Advice, Healing Words Be?

What Would You Say To Them if It Were ONLY Words You Could Say?

    • Love yourself, Love God, follow the Golden Rule, smile, be loving..
There can’t be rainbows without both the sun and a little rain

    • The hugs, snuggles, and I love yous are so worth it.

    • wendy c g says

Love, respect yourself and them. Lots of communication, hugs, listening to them. Give advice only when asked.

    • Rebecca Swenor says

Never forget that you are loved.

    • Karen Hinkle says

just treate them as if they were your own and love them uncondionally

    • Amanda Alvarado says

Love unconditionally, be yourself, trust in God and we are always here for you!

    • Mandi Gilliam says

I would let them know that you don’t have to be blood related to love someone like they are you own. And let them know that they are surrounded with love and support, and that they just have to be the best they can be and never settle for less. Aim high and shoot for the stars. That some unanswered prayers are often the best.

    • Virginia Rogers says

Unconditional love, they really become your own if you treat them as such. My circumstance is not same as all but my current boyfriend has 5 kids and 2 grand-kids of his own and I treat them just as they are mine also. I also worked as 3 yr. old pre-school teacher for 12 years and always treated every child like my own as I know as parent sending my child anywhere exactly how I would want them treated and to feel loved. His son lived with me for 2 years as his mom moved and he wanted to graduate with his class in my district. I always treated him same to this day he is very respectful and appreciative toward me for that.

    • Cynthia Dubuque says

Trust yourself! If you do the very best that you can, you’re doing alright 🙂

    • julie ferguson gould says

Treat people the way you want to be treated. Respect given is respect returned 🙂 Accept everyone for who they are.

    • Jessica Parent says

Take care of yourself too….take time to breathe and ALWAYS treat others the way you want to be treated (whether its the child, other parent, extended family) In the end everyone just wants a happy well adjusted child

    • Diana Smith Hill says

Treasure life when your young, don’t waste it. Take adventures on when your young. Don’t worry about the little things. If someone wants to leave your life let them leave. When God closes a door he has something else in mind for you. Try to save money. Instead of buying all the latest fads and things, put money away! Pay yourself first and then live off the rest. Never let your home cost you more than 30% of your income. You don’t have to drive your net worth down the street. Something reliable is good enough. If it looks too good it gets stolen anyway. Remember always, you are loved.

      2. Go to NYC and see a Broadway show, Teach her that family is forever – friends/boyfriends come and go, Go on a Cruise, Teach her how to cook, Help her succeed..

      • Rebecca Swenor says

That is sad but sweet at the same time. She knows you love her.

    • I’d love to buy my mom a new house

    • wendy c g says

For my mom, I’d like to fly her out here to California for a visit.

    • wendy c g says

Top 5 things, travel to Italy and explore a new culture, vacation to Disney World, take them to visit where I grew up, take a cooking class with them, and experience the Rainforest with them.

    • Rebecca Swenor says

For mom I would like to take her to Vagas. The five things for my children is to travel to Hawaii, buy them each a car, spend a couple days alone with them doing there favorite activities, go to a couple museums, and go to Mars with them.

    • 2. I would love to take my son to see alaska. He was born There. Teach my kids they have value and to know their worth. Teach my kids the heartbreak of a boyfriend/girlfriend is temporary. Sometimes even though you love someone they may not be good for you. Let my kids know its ok it fail, it trying that matters.

    • Amanda Alvarado says

For my mom, I would love to support HER so she could retire!
      1. Take them to Disney World…with all the extras
      2. Pay for their college
      3. Take them swimming with the dolphins.
      4. Take them on a trip around the world.
      5. Buy them their first houses!

    • Cynthia Dubuque says

I wish I could buy my mom a new house!

I’d love to travel cross country with my kids
      Go to Disney World
      Help them with their education
Teach them everything there is to know
Show them every day how much I love them

    • Mandi Gilliam says

      1. Would love to go on a vacation with my mom. It’s been 10 yrs since either of us have been on vacation, and so I would love to just go and have a care free week at the beach. Even though I have grown up poverty stricken, when I was a kid she always took us once a year to do something we couldn’t afford as a piece offering so to speak for how hard that past year had been.

      2. I have never been on not 1 vacation with my kids. 🙁 my oldest is 11!!! Never have enough money, just keeping afloat is difficult enough. So I would like to take them to Disney world, I would like to go on a shopping spree, would love to take them to the zoo this summer, would also like to spend more time at the park, and go to ride some roller coasters!!

    • julie ferguson gould says

1………..For my Mommy I would Take her Pain away that she has suffered through most of her life.

2……..For my kids I would bring their Father back Her passed away when they were only 3 and 5…I wish they could have really gotten to know the great man he was……

    • Virginia Rogers says

      1. I don’t think I could ever do enough or give my mom enough for all she has given me. I try with little things all the time not just Mother’s day just as token reminders that I love her, as I know how meaningful they are through having kids of my own now.
      2. 1-Spend time with my girls do not get as much any more since they have moved and have lives and working etc. 2- Go camping with my girls again, it was not much as we never could afford vacations but we used to go yearly for a week to a single parent family camp, am still friends with many from camp, just have not been able to go last couple years, my health, girls schedules, other issues (car) etc. has not made possible. 3,4,5 Would be same as 1 and 2 repeated 🙂

    • Jessica Parent says

      1. If I could I would take my mom for a complete day of pampering (I don’t think she has ever had that) with her mom (who passed away 18 yrs ago) I know she would LOVE just one more day with her more than ANYTHING

      2. WIth my own children I’d love to be able to finally take them to Disney Land (none of us have ever been) or even better another country , pay for college for them-so far they will need scholarships to go, I wish I could protect them from all the heartaches in the world but know it is not possible so I hope to be able to teach them how to deal with life’s pain and handle it with heads held high and hearts still intact, to learn to Love LIFE even when its not feeling so good, Id love to be able to treat my children to the things they deserve (be it sports, new cleats, education a vacation) So many many things I hope to be able to do with my children in this lifetime (many are unattainable but I try to spend as much time as possible with them and hope through it all they know how very much I LOVE each and every one of them

    • Diana Smith Hill says

If I could do anything fofr my mom, I would bring her back to life.

alas my nephew that I raised is all grown up. Things I would like to do with the children is take them to the beach, to the park, out for ice cream and just little daily things so we could enjoy one another’s company. Teach them things. They love adventures and the sleep overs are so fun with their friends, ordering pizza, telling stories by candlelight.

    • I would take my mom on a trip to Ireland she has always wanted to go. 1.Disneyland 2. Enjoy a trip to the zoo 3. Take a trip to the Aquarium 4. Go to the movies as a family 5. I would join a fitness group so we could all get healthy!

    • Raye Wiedner says

I spent the night before with one daughter, so I got coffee in bed (one of my favorite blessings in the world!!). We went to the other daughters’ for Mother’s Day. They all fixed one of the best meals I could ever ask for,and they got me tickets to The Muny, the outdoor theater here in St. Louis. I adore the theater, and I get two tickets for each show of the season, so I can take each of them, my grandies, and my hub to at least one show each. The extra shows, I can take friends. These tickets have become a tradition for my gift, and I couldn’t be happier. Memories for a lifetime and nothing to clutter my home. 🙂

Turned out crazy but ended nice. Started morning at 5 am with my oldest daughter calling crying saying she did not know what to do she said I just put my boyfriend(baby’s dad) in ambulance. She had baby and neither drive. So got her calmed down had her get dressed and get baby ready and she called my mom to bring baby to me and take her to hospital with him. He turned out a flu caused him getting sick to swell his uvula causing him not to be able to breathe. Was tiring being up so early but on bright side he was OK and they gave him steroid and antibiotic and let him go home last night. Once she knew he was OK we all went out to dinner she gave me a nice card from her and a nice card for grandma from baby she was so excited as was her first Mother’s Day. Her and my mom also went in on a wireless printer for me and she paid for dinner for all of us. Was a bit disappointed my youngest daughter had to work yesterday and they called her in early so she did call me and say Happy Mother’s Day and said would be over one day this week as she got me something. My mom’s friend also gave me a candle. My grandson’s dad usually watches him while my daughter is at work but with him being sick my boyfriend brought baby home with us last night, so even got all day with him, tiring but worth every second get to spend with him. 🙂
