    exfoliate skin on shoulders

Where does aging process show first and best? >>>> Neck & Decoltage and hands areas!

One reminder for us all – EXFOLIATE often!
The skin on neck and shoulders, chest tend to be less sensitive than or the face. Yet many forget about taking good care of it.

Exfoliation would reveal a younger layer of cells that are ready to take in more nutrients from all those lotions and potions you have lined up in your dresser area. Get the skin ready to take all this goodness in!

    – Twice a week use scrub on the decoltage area – do it in the shower to grab a larger areas and don’t be shy. Use circular motions to allow dead cells to come off.
    – Tone and moisturize that exfoliated area after the scrub.

Doing it regularly would definitely add more skin to your arsenal to show off without second thoughts!

Do you do it? If not, then start with TODAY’S NEW SIMPLE ROUTINE!

    • Actually I do not exfoliate.. I didn’t not know that you should…

    • wendy c g says

No I don’t, but I will start. Great information.

    • I used to work in skincare and the general advice by the cosmetician in the company I worked for was to exfoliate once a week to remove dead skin cells, but exfoliating too frequently can dry the skin… Of course, it’s individual – some need more and some need less… but def. don’t do it daily – once or twice a week is perfect!!

    • Janice Dean says

I have exfoliated in the past, but don’t do it regularly. Thanks for the info!!

    • Virginia Rogers says

Actually do not either, also did not know shows first in neck and hands would actually think face first. Guess should start 🙂

    • I use a scrub glove evertime I shower. I also make my own body scrub with brown sugar

      • Rachael Roberts says

Thats awesome how do I find out how to make my own body scrub?

        • CoffeeTime says

          Rachael,
You can easily make a Body Scrub at home!
I make mine based on the needs of my skin.

          Here’s one:
          – 1/2 cup Brown Sugar (use white if you don’t have brown on hand)
          – 2 Tsp Olive Oil (organic and cold pressed YES!)
          – 2 Tsp Oatmeal (use the coarse one or whatever you have. For face, I grind oatmeal in the coffee grinder!)
          – 1 Tsp Shea Butter (if not on hand, lose it)
          – 1 Tsp Coconut Oil
          – Drop or Two of Essential oils like Lime or Lavender to add the Aromatherapy to the shower process!

Mix all ingredients and use them.

Obviously, after scrubbing you’ll need some good soapy leather into your skin!

      • share pls!! lol

        • CoffeeTime says

          Menu,
I also use a very Simple scrub when I run out of the pre-made ones!

Use OATMEAL as your scrub! Let it sit for a minute on your skin and feed it, too!
          Then, wash off!

Feels and works well for skin!

    • Rachael Roberts says

I have in the past but after reading this I am going to start ASAP

    • Karen Hinkle says

I have been doing this just a little over 6 mos and it is wonderful I love the way my skin looks and feels

    • Melissa renee augustus says

      good to know

    • Rebecca Swenor says

I haven’t exfoliate my face at all just wash with soap and water. I am going to start.

      • CoffeeTime says

        Hei, Woman,
        You are missing out!
Let those dead cells come off your pretty face and open you all to possibilities!
Please show us your New Face after you do it!

    • I use baking soda mixed with water or lemon juice as a face scrub

    • Amanda Alvarado says

Wow! I use one on my face and feet but never thought to use it on my neck and decolletage! Gonna try it tonight when I take a shower!

    • Nicole M. says

I exfoliate probably once a week. I’ve heard you can actually do it too much and damage your skin.

    AVOID PANTHENOL IN HAIR CONDITIONER

    AVOID PANTHENOL IN HAIR CONDITIONER!

READ THE LABEL TO SEE IF THIS INGREDIENT IS THERE!

It may increase the likelihood of breakouts and acne along the hairline and back.

If you do get back breakouts, after rinsing out your hair conditioner in the shower, try putting your hair up in a clip (if it’s long) and then use your shower gel to wash your back. This quick tip will help remove any conditioner left on your back and will also reduce oil residue left behind, and will ensure that hair conditioners won’t cause any irritation.

    • wow I never knew this.. my 7 year old gets back break outs I never new this could be a possiblity

      • CoffeeTime says

        Carmen,
Obviously, it is just one of the factors that may contribute to the breakouts.
I know you care about green products.
Any kid-friendly product would NOT have this Panthenol on their ingredients list!

    • wendy c g says

Never knew this, great to know. I will look at my labels.

    • cool! never know this fact. my sister wears a hat till her hair dries but I think it’s because it dries cute and wavy like that…

    • Virginia Rogers says

Did not know that great tip to share with my daughter who conditions and gets regularly, as for me do not get but do not condition regularly either, I should as dry as my hair gets but at moment been hard to do. Thank you for sharing!! 🙂

    • Oh wow didn’t know that. I was wondering what was going on..I started having this issue and was wondering what was going on..now I know thanks..I’m going to go check my shampoos to see if I can rule out which one is causing it.

    • Janice Dean says

I’ve never had the problem, but thank you for the information.

    • Rachael Roberts says

This happens to me because I have to condition my hair or it dries out & tangles up even more. I have really long hair & so does my 11 yr old daughter who is starting to breakout, I will doing this from now on & tell my friends& family!!

    • Melissa renee augustus says

i never knew that wass that cause

    • Rebecca Swenor says

That is something I never thought about. I have to wash my hair daily because it gets greasy.
There is a trick I seen on Dr. Oz about putting backing soda down the line in your hair but just a lil bit so you don’t have white showing. It will soak up the oils.

    • Amanda Alvarado says

I try to stick to all natural shampoos and conditioners and I always make sure I wash my back off good after rinsing my hair! 🙂

    • Nicole M. says

I try to avoid all the unnecessary chemicals. Just like what you put IN your body (food), what you put ON your body (body care products) also matters. They all get in your bloodstream.
      Safety first!

Good News – Organic is Going Mainstream!

If you haven’t heard it yet, many retailers would be, and are already doing it, introducing SIGNIFICANTLY MORE ORGANIC FOODS to our patronage! That’s the way to go!

    – Strongest evidence that the biggest retailer Walmart is moving towards Organic as the mainstream foods on their shelves.
One of my favorite retailers Wild Oats is “moving in” to Walmart with its low prices for ORGANIC foods. That is very, very welcome news. Please see what VALUE they bring to the customers! You may be surprised!

    – To remind you: Organic Farms cannot plant or feed Genetically Modified plants on their territories.

If you haven’t started on the Organic path – please do so. Remember that all pesticides and antibiotics are accumulating in your cell tissue of all of your organs and muscles. Go Organic, Woman!

    • My 19 year old daughter loves organic foods.. she never liked spagheitti.. but one day I got organic spaghetti sauce with out realizing it.. and she wanted to try it.. and she started eating spaghetti at the age of 18 and is now in love with it.. there is a lot of food that she wont eat if its not organic

    • wendy c g says

I try to buy organic when possible. I shop at Sprouts, which has best selection of organic.

    • I would love to, and I try when I can (especially with baby items) but the bottom line is it’s more expensive. I have been spending a bit more here and there on healthier eating (using Truvia natural sweetener instead of sugar in aforementioned coffee… 😛 ) but organic is still not affordable for people like me! I wish it was!!

    • Virginia Rogers says

Am noticing more and more at Walmart, wish prices would go down and got rides to grocery shop more than once a month makes hard for me to buy whether organic or not any produce as most doesn’t last long.

      • CoffeeTime says

        Virginia,
With Wild Oats on the shelves, they estimate the prices at least 30% lower than any other brand!
I’ve checked their price list, and my eyes rolled out – prices very low for Organic stuff!

      • Karen Hinkle says

I have notice to more of our stores are doing it to and that’s great in all but the best thing to do grow your own food you will know what you are eating and the taste is so amazing I do a lot of freezing from our garden in the summer for winter meals and I am a farm gal to

    • Janice Dean says

We buy local organic if possible at the farmer’s market!

    • Rachael Roberts says

I buy organic whenever I can & I love Sprouts too. I can’t wait to Wild Oats from Walmart the prices are great!!

    • Melissa renee augustus says

      nice to know

    • Rebecca Swenor says

My son has been getting us into the organic for about two years now. I am glad we had the talk about the GMO that was great info and something most people don’t think about.

    • Amanda Alvarado says

We try to buy all fruits and veggies organic as well as other foods. I can’t wait for Wild Oats to hit the Walmarts here! Our HEBs are coming out with more organic products too but not many fresh fruits/veggies. I’m really hoping Wild Oats does! We have no Farmer’s Markets around here. 🙁

    • Nicole M. says

I try hard to stick to organic and GMO-free products and foods. I am super careful what I put into my body and my family’s. #AMCoffee

    heart plan weight loss motivation

Once I read that and obese person has the same life quality as a person undergoing chemotherapy. That caught my breath short.

Being overweight is not a cosmetic issue. It is the biggest issue that makes a huge dent in our well-being, our living conditions, our relationships with family, friends, professional arena.

We do not strive for putting extra pounds on. It’s absurd, isn’t it? What we may not realize that weight gain and weight loss sit deeper in us than we think.

I would like you and yours to invite to explore the HEART PLAN new series we started publishing. It’s emotional. It’s factual.

Some FACTS to Cheer Us Up This Morning!

Study: Firstborn Children Dream Bigger, Achieve More
    mother with baby

I thought we all need some cheer and useful facts to share this morning.

    – Firstborns were 16 percent more likely to gain higher educational qualifications.
    – Girls were 13 percent more likely to aspire to higher education than boys, and 4 percent more likely to actually achieve those qualifications.
    – Firstborns were about 7 percent more likely to want to stay in school.
    – The firstborn advantage was significant both within families and across families.

What we need to remember is that our kids are always kids to us. Firstborn or not, MOTHERS love their children!

Let’s celebrate our children today as well. They are everything to us, aren’t they? Our PRECIOUS.

    • wendy c g says

Wow, interesting. I love both my kids, they both are unique in their own way. They grow up so fast, enjoy each moment.

    • I have one precious firstborn, and he breathes life into me every day. He hasn’t yet dropped out so still going strong (well, he’s 7 months old, but we’re being optimistic…)

    • Janice Dean says

I think every baby is born special. It’s just the the first born usually gets more attention. Thanks!

    • Virginia Rogers says

I can honestly see that in my 2 girls, as much as we try to keep them equal in love and what we give them, raising them as a single mom I am guilty could not do everything with my 2nd daughter that was able to do and time devotion does tend to split when there are 2. I love them both equally and they are my world and many days believe why god has kept me here, but can see the statistics on firsts also.

      • Rebecca Swenor says

Just as long as your second daughter knows how much you love you should be good. You may not know it but you are setting a great example of how strong women can be from being a single parent.

    • Karen Hinkle says

yes they are I am very proud of my children I have my oldest now 28 ready to have her first child in July she is a go geter she has her own home health care business and she works hard all of my children are doing great

    • I love all my 4 of my kids. My first born is a boy..it is the only boy on all sides. He is the only one I have in school right now but my daughtet start kindergarten in Aug. I am sad but it will be some much needed alone time for me with my 3 year old twin girls

    • Melissa renee augustus says

i love my daughter no matter what

    • Rebecca Swenor says

In most cases I feel that it is true about first born. I always told my kids “I don’t care how old you are you are always going to be my babies.”. That doesn’t go over to good with boys but at least they know I love them and will always/ forever be there for them. 🙂

    • Amanda Alvarado says

I wish someone would tell this to my firstborn son! 🙂 I would love for him to go back to school. He managed to go for 2 semesters. He LOVED school when he was younger! Now dd on the otherhand doesn’t want to go to school most mornings and she’s only in Kinder! I’m hoping it’s because she’s bored (she’s already about a quarter or so of the way through the 1st grade curriculum) and she will like it more next year. With a 14 year age gap, it’s almost like they are both firstborns!

  8. So far my 1st born has graduated from high school and she is going to college next year.. my 2nd one quit school at the age of 17 so far this is true

    • Rebecca Swenor says

Carmen so mature faster than others. Never give up. I don’t think any mother would ever give up on her children 🙂

  9. Rachael Roberts says

I only have 1 child an 11 year old girl but she has been raised with her cousins as her siblings bc I can’t have anymore children. My daughter is the light of my life, best friend & the reason I get up everyday!!

    • Rebecca Swenor says

That is so sweet and sincere Rachael. I feel the same way about my two boys. 🙂

    • Rachael Roberts says

I helped raise my 2 nieces & nephew & I treat them the same as my daughter . They are all my kids to me & I love them each in different ways. I always try to make everything fair so nobody feels left out or that they are not the favorite so I tell them I love them all the same!!

      • Rebecca Swenor says

I had to do same thing with one of my sisters kids too. It bothered me when she would give her kids something and not mine even though we tried to treat them all the same. Lucky my kids understood the situation. My sister never got the concept of fairness. It still bothers me though.

  10. Rachael Roberts says

How do you know who the winners are if there are any?

    • Rebecca Swenor says

I feel we are all winners coming here. Laura will let you know. If there is a sponsor there will be a winner. 🙂

  11. Misty Edwards says

Good morning, remember that nobody can treat you any way other than what you allow yourself to be treated! You are just as good as any other person out there and you should demand to be treated respectfully.
