Heading straight into the Summser, we’ve had such great time during the past month! Where did the time go?

On the last day of May, I would like to bring to our attention not only what we’ve learned together, rather what kind of bonding and sharing time we’ve been together on the pages of #AMCoffee.

This morning gathering has become an outlet for many to share part of who they are, to relate their daily needs, and ultimately to extend themselves as a solid support for anybody who needs it on this day, in this moment, NOW.

The community of women we’ve attracted to #AMCoffee cares about caring.

THANK YOU to ALL who has become an inseparable part of our unique connection on the pages of #AMCoffee and outside of them.

Good morning all. I would say my favorite was about our mothers or woman like our mothers. The stories were memorable.

    • Jennifer Hiles says

Good morning ladies. I really enjoyed the Anti-Aging SkinCare Essentials Reminders. I wish I had been around for the Cooking With Herbs for Your Own Goodness. I would have loved to join that conversation!

    • Good morning!. My favorite was the skin care recipes

    • Carol Yemola says

Good Morning. Picking my favorite topic was limited due to the fact that I missed so many of them because I had to work. If I had to choose, it would be yesterday’s hunger topic. I was able to fully participate and agreed with lots of the other comments by participants.

    • Elicia P says

Morning all, at least I have the right day today!

Most memorable is the vaccine topic. We kept it civil which was the first time I have ever seen that. We are a great bunch of ladies!!!

My favorite topics is anything health/natural topics. I love finding out new things. I did learn to put orange peels in my vinegar thanks to Raye!

    • wendy c g says

Good morning, my favorite was sunscreen information. I’ve learned a lot of great information from all the chats. Thanks so much.

    • Uh eww Pineapple soda is all I have guess it will have to do until I can raid king kullen!! Wish I could drink coffee … I had 1 sip of coffee @ my high school graduation party ,, was told in less then 3 minutes I collapsed to the floor,, in the process I cut my head open and had to go to the hospital!!! 8 hours later after stitches (oh joy, Not) and then I found out I am allergic to a chemical they process coffee beans with! Just the aroma alone knocks me out!! The only time I drink it is if I can’t get to sleep and I have to be sitting in my bed when I have it! CRAZY HUH!!!

    • Good morning, I believe my favorite topic was making clothing from bamboo. I recently meet a family that is allergic to cotton. I’ve never heard of this before but, they have to wear all polyester based clothing. So I had a conservation with them about Del-Sol. Anyone else heard of being allergic to cotton?

    • hi 🙂 Honestly, my favorite topics were about eating disorders and yesterday’s… food banks

    • Jessica Parent says

I enjoyed every single one!! I liked the vaccine one because those controversial issues don’t typically get discussed (and when they do they tend to get dramatic-but did not with this group 😉 )

    • Katrina A. says

Hey all! So many great topics but I really enjoyed yesterdays as I could really relate. I look forward to the next month of topics as I am trying to make this part of my daily routine. Makes me feel connected because my social life is ziltch…lol

    • In all seriousness the sunscreen was most informative!!

    • Wendi Watson says

We’ve learned quite a bit this month about INFLAMMATION in our bodies. Why it happens and how to bring it down. If you remember –>

Inflammation is a precursor to heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, insulin resistance

One of the ways to get your bodily inflammation up and going is LACK OF SLEEP.

GO TO OUR #AMCOFFEE Where we discussed amazing facts about sleep and bring us YOUR TOP 3 facts that you did not know about how lack of sleep affects your body’s INFLAMMATION. (REPETITION MAKES IT BETTER TO REMEMBER!)

    LACK OF SLEEP AND INFLAMMATION

    • Jennifer Hiles says

The top 3 things I didn’t know are: That during sleep you can :”strengthen memories or “practice” skills”. One that really surprised me is that Too much or too little sleep is associated with a shorter lifespan! I had no idea! And the 3rd thing that I didn’t realize is that sleep directly affects your skin’s health, particularly dark circles under your eyes, pale and unhealthy looking skin – that is me!!

      • Karen Hinkle says

I .learned sleep helps you loss weight help with inflammation. And helps improver our memory and and helps prevent illiness

    • Elicia P says

Sleep helps my skin (maybe that is why I am at 35 and still breaking out, haha), attention a big one there, and finally stress.

    • Carol Yemola says

      My top 3 are :
1 – I didn’t know that lack of sleep actually accentuated inflammation
2 – I didn’t know that lack of sleep can actually cause weight gain
3 – I didn’t know inflammation caused by lack of sleep can start to attack healthy tissue

    • I was surprised to learn it could shorten you life span. I believe the magic number for over 50 was 6.5hrs of sleep. I didn’t kknow that lack of sleep affects your bodys inflammation and in turn can cause other issues liked high blood pressure, heart disease and obesity

    • Rebecca Swenor says

      1. Lowers immune system which affects inflammation
      2. Can cause you to be over weight which in turn cause inflammation
      3. Can cause insulin to mess up

    • wendy c g says

Lack of sleep causes skin issues
Lack of sleep causes weight gain
Lack of sleep causes shorter life span

    • Lack of sleep causes skin issues,, Lack of sleep causes weight gain,, Lack of sleep causes shorter life span all of this shocks lil Shortie (me)

    • I learned, I cant win. Im always under sleeping or over sleeping. Sleep effects weight loss, sugar level , our skin, and our immunity systems. I don’t think I know one mom that has a good sleeping pattern. I always say, I sleep with one eye open.

    • I didn’t know lack of sleep caused insulin changes, shorter life span or skin problems

    • Jessica Parent says

I learned a lot that day!! I had no idea lack of sleep could cause weight gain /make it harder to lose weight
That more sleep could “strengthen” memories, that people who get less sleep have higher blood levels of inflammatory proteins than those who get more or that it could affect how long we live (or don’t) 😉

    • Katrina A. says

I did not realize inflammation can cause Arthritis, Dementia, Some Cancers, Irritable Bowel & Premature Aging. I also did not realize it’s a good thing in the sense it’s your body’s natural defense mechanism to repair tissue damage. And last I didn’t know People who have sleep apnea or insomnia can have an improvement in blood pressure and inflammation with treatment of the sleep disorders. Interesting….I have insomnia.

    • Wendi Watson says

i did not know that lack of sleep can make you gain weight! definataley need to make sure to get the right amount of sleep so that your skin does not have issues either!

Dairy products are a HUGE and very important part of our lives.
As a responsible citizen to your body, we gotta be aware of little facts about different things that make a difference in our health.

Go here and bring us here, into the Comments, the TOP 3 Most Memorable Facts you’ve learned this month about DAIRY PRODUCTS.

For me, it is high acidity in which all dairy products are digested and what we need to do to protect our bones from being compromised while enjoying dairy products.

    WHAT’S YOURS? YOU’RE NEXT!

    dairy products facts

    • Elicia P says

Woman over 50 have the highest bone fractures
We are the only mammals that feed from other mammals milk (this still blows my mind, but that is another topic)
      Eat your greens!!!!

    • Carol Yemola says

      My top 3 :
1 – I have never heard of the product Kefir! Learned about a new one!
2 – I didn’t realize that Soy has high Estrogen content which can actually make you gain weight
3 – I didn’t realize that low levels of Vitamin D could lead to cancer

    • Jennifer Hiles says

I’m learning a ton this morning! I learned that without vitamin D, 10-15 percent of dietary calcium is absorbed. Calcium is important for strong bones. I’m also surprised that Americans “top of the least with the most dairies consumed per year per person” and that women over the age of 50 have the highest rate of bone fractures and that we should consume lots of leafy greens with added calcium.

    • That were are the only mammal s that use other mammals milk.i had not heard of Kefir. . And I didnt know that soy had high estrogen which can cause weight gain

    • wendy c g says

America consumes the most dairy products.
Low levels of Vitamin d can lead to cancer.
We are the only mammals who continue to drink milk after becoming an adult.

    • Rebecca Swenor says

1} Kefir which is a fermented dairy product boost immune system.
2} and 3} The us humans keep drinking baby food from other mammals.

    • 1. Low vitiaman D- leads to cancer. 2. No dairy leads to low bone density. 3. I get frustrated with the eggs in diet. They say don’t eat egg, there bad for you and then say eat eggs we need the vitiamins. I guess we need just to watch our intake of eggs in diet.

    • Katrina A. says

Kefir has a strong influence on your immune system, boosts gut health, and improves the strength of bones. I’ve never even heard of Kefir.
COWS do not drink milk, yet they have some of the strongest bones ever…..interesting.
If a mother while she was pregnant drank milk, and her baby has been fed milk in the first two years of development – these two components product a very sad result. The risk of that baby of becoming DIABETIC increases dramatically! That’s insane! I had no idea!

    • Wendi Watson says

must have the vitamins especially D or you can end up with very fragile bones as well as easy breaks, i am still shocked that cows do not drink milk? and i also know that we are the only mammals that drink milk after becoming an adult I just find that very very mystifying

If I could get courage I would cook it and feed it to my family just because of the good content in it.
I love that it is absorbing, fast drying. This would be great for my husband who just throws the towels on the ground damp.
It is soft and airing, does this make sense?

    • Carol Yemola says

      My top 3 :
1 – I never realized that you can eat bamboo – thought it was just for Panda Bears! LOL
2 – I didn’t realize that bamboo was rich in silica!
3 – I never realized that bamboo had anti-irritant properties

    • Jennifer Hiles says

The top 3 bamboo qualities that are important to me are that bamboo shoots are low in sugar and high in protein (important in a family of diabetics). I love that it is a fantastic source of dietary fiber which is helpful in weightloss and when it comes to wearing bamboo, it cuts out 98% of harmful UV rays. That is a very important factor for me! I have bamboo sheets that I just love. They are so soft and breathable. And I also love that it’s one hundred percent biodegradable!!!

    • I didn’t know that you could eat it and I can find it canned in the store. That bamboo cut out 98% of uv rays and it a obsorbs sweat. Its a good source of Slica

    • Rebecca Swenor says

It improves appetite and digestion. Also can give you 8 essential and 2 semi-essential amino acids. As far as clothing goes it helps our environment. I would like to Bamboo V Neck Tee – Charcoal for prize.

    • I have never tried bamboo, but would try. Bamboo is full of fiber. Helps with digestion, And you can wear bamboo clothing.

    • Katrina A. says

We grew bamboo when I was little. The anti-bacterial aspect in clothing made from bamboo would be a big deal in my house full of smelly boys. lol I never realized how good it is for you in your diet. I think it’s awesome it had qualities that help burn patients.

    • Wendi Watson says

i want to win everything from them i am so wanting to try out their products i bet they are simply amazing!

bamboo is full of fiber! wearing bamboo helps shut out UV rays and its good for those of us that suffer from allergies it can really help!

    FACTS THAT EMPOWER EVERY WOMAN
    – To Be Strong
    – To Be Healthy
    – To Take Time for Ourselves

WHAT WAS THE MOST SURPRISING FACT ABOUT WATER THAT YOU NEVER KNEW?

Now, that you’re aware about the Youth Elixir, let’s share our TOP 3 WATER FACTS here you’ve learned about.
This way, we will remember better and incorporate this piece of knowledge into our daily lives.

    water facts

    • Elicia P says

I just have to say that I am shocked at all the crap that still is in our water (tap), seriously I have talked to people about the information that was provided in this chat.
Poor people in WV that still can not have drinking water, again another thing I have told people about since this chat.
It helps with skin health, it should we are made of water!

    • Carol Yemola says

      My top 3 –
1 – I never realized that water removes by-products of fat
2 – I never realized that water can actually remove wrinkles by hydrating your skin
3 – I never knew that water can cure a headache

    • Jennifer Hiles says

ONe of my new years resolutions was to drink more water and I’m proud to say I stuck with it. I love that it is great for headaches (I had actually learned that from someone that was in the army). I really really love that it promotes weight loss by raising your metabolism, getting rid of fat by-products and suppressing your appetite (all I’ve found to be true since my resolution!). And finally that water helps keep you regular. I couldn’t believe the difference it made when is started drinking more water. All of these things happened and really improved my quality of life.

    • wendy c g says

Finding out about all the unhealthy things in our water.

    • I was suprised at all the stuff that is left in the water. I didnt know that water could help with headaches. I know dranking water helps you feel better. I stopped dranking soda and drank lots of water and I felt so much better

    • Rebecca Swenor says

      1. Removes by-products of fat
2.Raises your metabolism and has zero calories
3 Gets rid of wrinkles. It’s the best anti-aging treatment around

    • There is pee in water. Never drink water that has been sitting in plastic water bottles that have been sitting in the sun. And water helps with anti-ageing and helps promote weight loss.

    • Wendi Watson says

im mjust glad that there are zero calories and it will help with aging as well by keeping your skin hydrated!

    • Katrina A. says

I loooooove water. I got into the habit of drinking it when I was pregnant and it stuck. I love that it flushes out toxins. I drink enough of it I should be super thin…lol….considering it removes by-products of fat. I did not realize it gets rid of wrinkles. Good to know I’ll be smooth as a baby’s bottom all my life…hehehe. And I get horrible headaches so I always try to stay hydrated since a headache can be induced by water deprivation.

HERE’S ONE OF OUR DEARLY LOVED SUBJECTS ON TOP 10 FASHION HEALTH HAZARDS!

SHARE YOUR 1 OR 2 FACTS FROM YOUR LIFE YOU’RE “GUILTY” OF based on those TOP 10 FASHION HEALTH HAZARDS WE LISTED HERE!

For me, it was wearing tight belts when they were so “IN” at the time when I was in high school. No belts since that time at all. I actually do not like belts, and wear them only with my jeans! He, he.

    fashion hazards

    • Elicia P says

      Laura,
I have never been a belt person. My hips are too big. Belts make them look larger.

    • Carol Yemola says

I am guilty of wearing flip flops constantly during the summer!

      • Elicia P says

Because of this conversation this day I brought out a pair of flip flops that I bought two years ago that I never wear. Can’t remember the name of them but they have the arch and were expensive.
Yesterday. I wore them on my 2 mile walk. It was wonderful, no aches or pains.

    • Jennifer Hiles says

I did enjoy this conversation and had learned a lot. I’m guilty of wearing sports bras a little too often (mainly at home when I get out of work). I’m also guilty of wearing flip flops and other sandals that are just as unsupportive.

    • wendy c g says

I wear flip flops year long.

    • I wear flip flop all year round

    • Rebecca Swenor says

Wearing shoes that hurt or even wear cheap flip flops with my high arches.

    • Elicia P says

      Spenco

That is the name of the flip flops that I bought that have a arch in them. The reviews on them are wonderful and I can confirm. I walked 2 miles yesterday in them and they were wonderful.

    • Wear a good bra, even durning workouts, belts should be a No-No, and wear shoes to support archs. I’m a flip flop queen , I must have 12 pair.

    • Wendi Watson says

I m a flip flop lover and I just do not like to wear anything that makes my feet hot in the summer it drives me crazy

    • Katrina A. says

I wear flip flops all year long. Since I don’t work anymore I never have the need to wear “real” shoes. Plus my shoes wear out less because I don’t wear them much. 🙂 And I always have a sports bra on (actually 3 at a time) not just to exercise. I have a large chest region and just one regular bra won’t do the trick. It’s a pain!

    • Carol Yemola says

I must admit that I am not a fancy coffee drinker. I do like the flavored creamers, but that is as far I will go to try a new coffee beverage.

    • Jennifer Hiles says

I’m a huge coffee lover and I think I’ve had all of these drinks at least once, except for the RISTRETTO. I’m going to have to try one of these. I’ll wait for a day that I really need a boost! haha

      • Karen Hinkle says

I just drink regular coffee never been to fancy coffee shops or even statbucks I am depriverd lol

    • I like flavored coffee but I dont drank it much. I love my sweet tea. I would taste them all..just to find something yummy

    • wendy c g says

Your second option is to ask moms in your area. If you go to the park or library and you see moms with older ones than yours. Just ask them, I am sure they can offer a school in your area.
