Your Skin Calls for Prebiotics And Probiotics Balance #AMCoffee

Skin Needs Nutrition
Probiotics & Prebiotics Reminders

HASHTAG: #AMCoffee

Your health, your skin, your entire well-being depends on good gut flora – the friendly bugs that create and boost your entire immune system. Prebiotics and probiotics balance is something that lays a foundation for good health and beautiful skin naturally.

Summer is the time to give your, probably, the biggest boost to your skin health. More of healthy sunshine exposure, in-season berries, veggies, fruit – all that presents a huge abundance of nature-produced anti-oxidants and phytonutrients our skin needs on the daily basis.

Note this fact that can make a difference how you approach your skin health.

What you eat during the summer months does last during the winter. Meaning that vitamins and nutrients we consume with fresh produce in-season gets into the reserve for our body and skin to be used during the months of “starvation.”

AM Coffee has discussed many options how to boost our bodies, skin, and overall well-being with the foods, active routines and a wanting mindset. Please refer to those discussions to get a quick glance to refresh your memory and what you already know. Even when we KNOW something, there’s no guarantee that we will do it or are doing it it. Frequent reminders are a must for the majority of our human race to invite us to take a second glance at what we do.

Some Reminders are HERE!

Boost Your Immune System for the Summer

• Rose Water & Oils
Skin Care Ingredients You Have To Know About To Protect Yourself

A great emphasis for all of us today is Prebiotics and Probiotics.

Prebiotics are food for our good gut bacteria.

Probiotics are the good gut bacteria, also known as intestinal gut flora, that feast on prebiotics and deliver the chemicals that build, boost, and get our immune system. There are more studies and findings that support the findings that probiotics are essential for skin health. Skin is the face of our entire body well-being. What’s going inside the body is reflected in our skin. Acne, pimples, redness and irritation could be the signs that something’s off and needs our attention.

Skin health is challenged daily by the environmental factors like weather and pollution, food and water uptake, air and lifestyle choices. Complexion changes are a visible sign to pay attention to those environmental changes. Boosting skin defense is something we can do in modern day and age. From food to skin care products and regiment, and using new findings in skin health – we can take our well-being to a new level.

It has been discovered that Probiotics have additional antimicrobial benefits. Probiotics create holes in bad bacteria destroying them! Who wouldn’t like to get rid of acne and improve skin appearance?

Probiotics have been found to reduce skin sensitivity, redness and irritation, making it possible and even revolutionary to look into better anti-aging products and ways to boost skin’s looks and appearance.

Enjoying both Foods and Skin Care Products with pre- and probiotics can truly make our overall health shine.

    • I eat yogurt and take probiotic supplements. I have the company I order online from offering free prebiotics with order but I am not to familiar with them.

        Lisa,
        This is great!
I actually eat Greek Yogurt, plain, no fruity additions inside.
Plus, I take prebiotic to feed my gut bacteria!

What BRAND do you use for your probiotic supplements?

        • good morning i am here for a little bit got a IEP meeting for Jack i eat yogurt to but i do take a probiotic once in a while but i love my cold slaw and garbage to and

            Karen,
I was raised on the Fermented Cabbage which is delicious! Very much different what they sell in stores.
We made it at home every fall for winter to last!
Then we had pickled cucumters, tomatoes, salads – all containing the live probiotics and cancer-killing chemical elements.

        • I used the Swanson brand.

          • Laura, Celebrate Woman Today says

You need to look at the number of the Live culture and compare it among brands!

    • We always have yogurt here! I’m so thankful my boys Loe yogurt they dont realize how good it is for them!!! Probiotics i have never taken so this is a good subject for me to read into!

      • Laura, Celebrate Woman Today says

        Wendi,
A few TIPs for probiotics that truly make our bodies go – they are underlying our IMMUNE SYSTEM and define our health. Really.
#1 –> Do add PROBIOTIC supplements or good greek yogurts to your daily diets when you take Antibiotics. Antibiotics kill all friendly flora or diminish it to minimum. Probiotics help to restore and maintain good gut bacteria and fight the DISEASES!

#2 –> Do add leafy green veggies to your daily diet in addition to yogurts. These veggies provide PRE-BIOTICS, i.e., food for good gut flora!

    • Rebecca Swenor says

I know nothing about prebiotics but some about probiotics.

      • Laura, Celebrate Woman Today says

        Rebecca,
        READ ON!

Things to Remember and Keep in your mind are:
#1 Prebiotics are FOOD for Good Gut Flora
#2 Prebiotics are found in green leafy vegetables and cruciferous and all colorful veggies
#3 Probiotics MUST eat in order to bring the benefits to the body. They use prebiotics as “floaters” to get to the skin and go through it! Without “floating devices, ” probiotics SINK, DIE, Without delivering full benefits to the health of our bodies.
#4 When you take ANTIBIOTICS – Eat Foods rich in Pre- and Probiotics or Take additional Probiotic Supplements.

Probiotic Products Breakthroughs in SKIN Health

Some companies go into the pre- and probiotic skin care. What happens in the product design is Probiotic Ingredients are derived from fermented rice (lactobacillis ferment). These ingredients work on gram-negative bacteria and candida!

Incorporating peptide delivery system – which absorbs faster into our skin and to the cell level – it allows to deliver Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide that kill bad bacteria without additional irritation to the skin. That is how redness could be totally eliminated from the skin.

This technology also delivers brightening bio-actives and anti-aging agents restoring healthy-looking skin.

    Healthy Approach to Skin

    1. Use a home-care routine that is gently re-balancing, including vitamins A, C, and B-5, with plenty of ceramides and hyaluronic acid to calm and hydrate. Consistent and diligent morning and evening routines are always important.

    2. It is also interesting to note that probiotics have now started showing up in product formulations for topical use where they can encourage cell renewal, improve barrier function and retain surface moisture. This builds new tissue and gives the skin a glow.

    3. Consider compiling a list of alkaline foods, perhaps from the book The Acid-Alkaline Food Guide (Square One Publishers, June 2006) by Susan Brown, MD, that many people find very useful.

    4. Eat good quality yogurts that do not have any fruit additions on the bottom or mixed with the culture. Fruit lowers the number of good bacteria in yogurs.

    • I thought yogurt was yogurt. Good to know this about fruit in it.

    • we do buy the fruit sometimes but really my boys loves regular yogurt and they put the granola on it for breakfast!! Its easy and fast before school!!

      • Laura, Celebrate Woman Today says

        Wendi,
Yogurt and Granola ALONE won’t cut when we talk about strengthening our gut flora!
The part that most people miss is that the Good Gut Flora MUST EAT, TOO!
The food for good gut flora is called PREBIOTICS! They are found in veggies and foods rich in fiber!
FIBER is LIFE. Literally it is!

    • Rebecca Swenor says

I don’t eat yogurt but I do it sauerkraut. My parents always had us eating sauerkraut and hot dogs with other foods for dinner. Pork chops are really good with fresh sauerkraut on them.

    Antibiotics and Skin Health

It has been established that continued use of antibiotics will eradicate certain strains of friendly bacteria that never fully repopulate in certain areas of the body. BUY organic as much as possible.

In the fullness of time, it will be understood how genetic makeup, lifestyle, health and disease influence the metabolic composition of the gut, and how this, in turn, influences – and is influenced by – the gut microbiome. The next time you feel yourself getting hungry, or are feeling lethargic, you might ask yourself whether it’s really you, or is it the residents of your gut?

As scientist Lynn Margulis commented in the April 2011 edition of Discover magazine,”We couldn’t live without bacteria. They maintain our ecological physiology. There are vitamins in bacteria that we cannot live without. The movement of gas and feces would never take place without bacteria. There are hundreds of ways our bodies wouldn’t work without them. Bacteria are our ancestors.”

    • Rebecca Swenor says

This is so true and interesting. Yogurt is a great way to keep regular. Lucky my sons both love eating organic things more than junk now. I just can’t take the taste of yogurt but lucky the have the pills.

    • i say that is why our children are bigger from the enhancement drugs and chemicals they put in our foods but organic is so much more expensive sadly for some families its cheaper for them to get dollar burgers from McDonalds these days! and it is causing the obesity in our country and declining health

      • Laura, Celebrate Woman Today says

        Wendi,
I agree that families with limited finances suffer the most, as they try to stretch each dollar longer.
But… to eat clean and to eat more greens is possible on the budget! Especially when the summer is here.
I tested it to buy at green local market for a week worth of food and use grains, beans to add to that fresh produce.
        MORE than enough!
It is the culture that we need to educate and create… again how to eat from scratch and fresh.

  8. I just have this rumbling around in my head. When did we stop feeding ourselves as a society organic? Or was it much of an option before?

    • Laura, Celebrate Woman Today says

      Lisa,
Before, it was all Organic. Until it was really important to increase the FOOD production for this country and those that cannot feed themselves, for different reasons, and require assistance from the outside.
To increase Food production called for a HEAVIER use of chemicals and pesticides. With time, the strength of pesticides has increased, and the RESISTANCE to those pesticides from BUGS has increased exponentially as well.
Now…. back to basics, using Organic farm techniques and no-chemical farming.

      • As I read about pesticide resistance it says this: Resistance can be managed by reducing use of a pesticide. This allows non-resistant organisms to out-compete resistant strains. They can later be killed by returning to use of the pesticide.
But isn’t it best to just not use pesticide instead of returning the use of it?

        • Laura, Celebrate Woman Today says

          Lisa,
Of course it is better to go chemical FREE!
It takes time and use of knowledge to rotate crops in order to maximize the output of food!
All that and crop rotations are common knowledge and can be used today in agriculture.
That is how we are getting more profitable Organic farms that are smaller in size.

    pH and Your Skin Health

“pH” stands for potential hydrogen, as hydrogen is the element that controls the levels of either alkalinity or acidity in a formulation.

Acidic products range from 0–6.9 and are often used to exfoliate or peel the skin.

Alkaline products range from 7.1–14 and can be used in cleansers or to neutralize acidity and, very often, moisturizers are formulated to be neutral (a pH of 7) to bring the skin back into balance.

Too much acidity or alkalinity is irritating for the skin, so the pH should always be carefully calibrated.

More recently, the principle of pH-balancing has been applied to the body. This holistic approach is based on the belief that the foundation of a strong digestion is built on a simple eating system that maintains an ideal acid/alkaline (pH) balance in the body.

    How is that done?

The suggested pH-ratio would be a diet of two-thirds alkaline and one-third acid-forming foods. This takes some adjustment. So, to take a step in the right direction, let’s outline a few alkaline foods that can be incorporated in greater quantities, and some acidic foods that can be eliminated.

Foods that are excellent at maintaining a more alkaline system

    – Raw, green, leafy vegetables, such as chard, kale and spinach are all . A
    – Avocados, celery, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, coconuts, cherries, grapefruits, lemons and watermelons.

    Plus

    – Exercise and relaxation are essential and
    – Drinking the right amount of water.

Men need more water than women on a daily basis, but if you eat plenty of the aforementioned vegetables and two or three fresh fruits a day, you can fill half of your required fluid quota. A healthy way to start and end each day, for example, would be with a cup of warm water flavored with half of a fresh lemon.

    • Rebecca Swenor says

Chard I have not heard of but all these other foods I love to snack on. Water is such an important part of all of our lives if we want to stay healthy and feeling good.

      • Laura, Celebrate Woman Today says

        Rebecca,
It is awesome you eat a ton of great stuff.
What I’ve been researching and reading is that SCIENTISTS followed by Dietitians DO recommend to add VARIETY to our daily food consumption.
Variety will bring a boost to the already existing good gut bacteria, thus, enhancing our IMMUNE SYSTEM!
That is why I force myself by reminding that I need new foods in my diet. It’s not every day, but often enough to venture out of the box. We try new or rarely eaten foods every week!

Foods To Keep to A Minimum in Your Life

    – White flour, red meat, processed food, coffee, too much alcohol and artificial sweeteners.

Red meat creates acidity during its digestion: It takes a lot of stomach acid to digest meats!

These create a lot of acidity in the body. Too much acidity triggers eczema, acne, cysts, rosacea and wrinkles

All of these conditions may be greatly improved by a diet that contains alkaline-rich foods.

I know I have to cut back more on my red meat intake. I have been eating more and more chicken. Processed food is so bad for you and if you have eaten it make sure to write down how you feel afterwards. Thanks for sharing this awesome information.

    • i have to have a steak and salad meal at least once every two weeks!! I love steak but we do eat more chicken pizza and pork cause its cheaper lol and pork is not great for you either

  11. Yes steer clear.
