Precious stones mean a lot of things in our lives. In this day and age, we are so used to the first meaning of a precious gem concept as in JEWELRY. However, precious and semi-precious stones have been regarded as healing, encouraging, calming agents within a human life.
Each gem or stone has its aura that carries a multitude of applications and interpretations. Depending on the culture where gems and stones are used, we can come across some very interesting descriptions and usages.
Linda Singth from Sitara Collections, who is known for her amazing taste and experience in putting some interesting stones into jewelry, has agreed to be our guide for today’s #AMCoffee.
Feel free to scroll down and see what you could learn and find very fascinating about some of the precious stones you could use for your own benefit.

AM COFFEE – Sign In! HELLO, Everyone!
What are your Favorite precious stones you prefer to use in your jewelry collection?
And if you do not have any, which precious stones you’d like to have?
I think I am signed in – not sure! But hopefully! Linda
Signing in I like purple I think its called amethyst my birthstone
Yes, Amethyst is a purple, comes in many different color purples, and now even green amethyst, which has become very popular. I’ve seen green in the lightest to the darkest shade, and when the stones are faceted, they are really beautiful. Do let me know if you would like more information on Amethysts.
Ho opal is one of my favorites
Linda,
It is so refreshing to have someone who KNOWS her stuff!
I am a huge fan of CLEAR stones. Tanzanite is one of my favorites, and I do own a ring I invested into when I was a college student. Let me take a picture of it right now.

Clear stones are a joy to behold…..the clarity of some stones just naturally have small specks in them – examples are Prehnite and sometimes Carnelian. You think the stones are damaged but that is mother nature doing her thing! 🙂 Can’t wait to see the image of your ring! And you may want to get the stone appraised, you may be surprised, depending on how large it is. Also, if anyone is from Montana, there is a stone is similar in coloring to Tanzanite, Yogo Gulch sapphires, that have been famous for over 100 years, and the production of sapphires in Montana continues today. These sapphires are produced from both rock and alluvial deposits.
Sapphires is my other passion! So beautiful they are! In so many colors!
Sapphires are my FAV (especially blue ones)
my hubby for me a sapphire and I lost it I was so mad
Beautiful.
Sapphire are gorgeous

Its not letting me reply to the main post. It keeps putting my reply on a different post.
Opal is one of my favorite. I would love to own a strand of pearls
good morning I have missed my amcoffee family I love my mothers ring and my grandmas ring
Hi Karen – that is great – do you wear them yourself or keep them safely tucked away?
oh I wear them I love them so much and like to show them off
Wow! That is great. I hate hearing when people don’t wear them! what gemstones are in the rings?
Karen,
You gotta take a picture of your Family Jewels and share with us in the FB page!
Would love to see them!
oh I will have to clean them up some with all the gardening I do they need a good clean up lol
Karen,
You remind of myself when I wore All of my gems (rings) on my hand during my workout at the gym. That’s how I LOVE my jewelry.
But then after having done some damage to my rings, I stopped doing it, and started leaving all of my jewelry at home!
You garden all clad up in shining armor or your Ancestors!
I have a some of both my mammaws that i occasionally wear
Good morning. I’m on my 3rd cup and switching to decaf now. I love amethyst and ruby. I have some amethyst but not ruby.
Rubies are really beautiful -however, typically priced much higher than most of can afford. Having traveled to India, I found Rubies that are “uncut and polished” and are getting worked into jewelry making for very attractive price points.
Good morning. Love my rubis because they are my oldest birthstone
Hello everyone, My favorite gem is sapphires. But I love them all. lol.
I do not own much jewelry besides a pr of hoop earrings and my engagemen rings but I LOVE blue…Sapphires have always been my favorite (With onyx and turquoise a little behind)
Onyx is lovely
Good Morning!!!! My favorite gem stone is a emerald! Green has always been my favorite color!

Aqua Chalcedony meaning – the stone of compassion and good will. It enhances generosity and openness.
Birthstone Month: Aqua Blue Chalcedony is not associated with any particular birthstone month.
Zodiac: Aqua Blue Chalcedony is not associated with any particular zodiac sign.
History & Lore: Chalcedony is derived from the name of an ancient Greek town in Asia Minor known as Chalkedon.
With the exception of sticks, bones, rocks, and animal skins, Chalcedony is believed to one of the very first raw materials used by mankind, with the earliest recorded uses of Chalcedony being for weapons, tools, knives, bowls and cups.
Chalcedony rings that were worn by ancient Romans are still found in remarkably good shape today.
Chalcedony was used as a sacred stone by Native Americans, who believed that it would promote stability within the ceremonial rituals of the tribe.
Chalcedony is believed to increase endurance, stamina, vitality, and to promote emotional balance, kindness, charity, and friendliness. Physically, Chalcedony is said to relieve melancholy, fever, irritability, gall stones, and eye problems.
Availability:
Chalcedony is readily available and is found in a wide range of colors and shapes, with abundant
sources ensuring that Chalcedony is a low to moderately priced gemstone.
Sources:
There are deposits of Chalcedony the world over.
Evaluation:
Aqua blue Chalcedony is rated at 7 on Moh’s Scale of Hardness and is a tough,
durable gemstone that is suitable for all jewelry applications, and easy to care for.

Birthstone Month
Tanzanite is one of the accepted birthstones for the month of December.
Zodiac
Tanzanite does not have any strong affiliations with any particular zodiac sign.
Chemical Make-up
Tanzanite is a member of the Zoisite family of minerals and is therefore made up of Calcium Aluminum Silicate Hydroxide.
History & Lore
The name for the gemstone known as Tanzanite is taken from it’s place of origin, the country of Tanzania.
Tanzanite is a very young gemstone in terms of when it was discovered. Tanzanite’s discovery did not occur until 1967, and is widely attributed to a Portuguese geologist named Manuel D’Souza who had traveled to Tanzania with the intention of prospecting for Rubies. It is said that when he reached Tanzania he was led to deposits of this wonderful gemstone why Masai Tribesmen.
Practically the only widely accepted tale regarding Tanzanite relates to how it was found. It is believed that Tanzanite was in fact originally discovered by Masai cattle- herders who noticed that previously brown crystals has been turned blue after having exposed ti intense heat brought about by ravaging fires and lightning strikes on the flat and insular mountains surrounding Mount Kilimanjaro.
Whilst there is very little in the way of lore surrounding Tanzanite, very likely due to its relatively recent discovery, it does have a special meaning to the Masai Tribesmen who discovered it. The Masai’s believe that Tanzanite is the stone of birth, and it is for this reason that they frequently gift their wives with Tanzanite gemstones following the birth of their first child
Availability
There is real concern regarding the long-term future of the Tanzanite gemstone and already demand outstrips supply. An additional factor is that due to the single location of the occurrence of this gem, there may realistically be as little as ten years of mining production before the supply of all jewelry grade Tanzanites has been depleted.
Sources
Whilst from time to time reports of new discoveries of Tanzanite surface, the only widely accepted genuine deposits of Tanzanite is the five square mile hilltop at Merelani, relatively close to Tanzania’s international airport, and a few isolated deposits in Kenya.
Evaluation
Tanzanite is rated at 6.5 – 7.0 on the Moh’s Scale of Hardness and is therefore considered suitable for all jewelry applications and durable enough for everyday wear, although some care should be taken. Whilst most people know Tanzanite as a blue gemstone, it is also found in shades of brown, gray, green and purple.
Probably the most predominant factor explaining the high demand for this gemstone is that Tanzanite is a stone that exhibits beautiful color changes, and depending upon the angle that it is viewed at it most commonly exhibits changes between reddish- purple, blue and deep purple colors, with the most desired and therefore the most valuable color being blue.
Currently Tanzanite is a relatively inexpensive gemstone. Having said this, the prices of Tanzanite fluctuates wildly and overall prices per carat of good, gem quality Tanzanite have more than doubled over the last two years.
Taking this into account the fact that there is only a finite amount of Tanzanite available, this gemstone represents a real opportunity for investment. It is predicted that prices will continue to rise and that these rises will likely be very steep once the known deposits have been depleted, which may well occur at some point within the next ten years.
Common Cuts
Tanzanite gems are most commonly, although by no means exclusively, fashioned into Oval and Cushion cuts. All accepted gem cuts are however available.
Routine Enhancements
In it’s natural form, Tanzanite is most commonly a dull brown color. However, when heated to around 600 degrees celcius an amazing transformation occurs and the gem changes color to a vibrant blue or purple color.
It is worthy of note that whilst other gemstones are routinely enhanced / heat-treated in order to create additional color, Tanzanite is heated simply to bring out the color already present in the stone, not to create a better quality gemstone. Heat-treated Tanzanite is considered to be the same quality as non heat-treated Tanzanites, it is simply richer in color.
Care & Cleaning

As with may gemstones, it is best to clean Tanzanite with warm, soapy water. Ultrasonic ans steam cleaning cleaning devices should be avoided, as should exposure to acids or prolonged exposure to extremes of heat as this may cause the gem to shatter.
When storing your Tanzanite jewelry do so away from harder gemstones that may scratch the softer Tanzanite.
Wow thts even cooler I like this one cause its purple
I mean blue but lookied purple on pic
Hi Brianna,
Tanzanite is a very interesting color – on some pieces, it looks blue and on others, purple….Primarily it is one of the most expensive gemstones out there, even more costly than Diamonds as the stone is only found in Tanzania. I’ve been to Tanzania and could not afford to buy when there (how ironic) but the stones are stunning, especially when paired with crystals or white topaz.
I live the deep purple
wow interesting it is also beautiful
Reading this reminded me of a show on TV where there dig for gems on the sides of rocky mountains. Its very dangerous work, with the rock slides. It amazes me how a rock can be made into something beautiful.
It’s a beautiful stone. My daughter is a December baby and the multitude of stones that are accepted as December birthstone is amazing.
Beautiful! Hard gemstones are always an added bonus for people that like to wear their gems everyday as life can be rough on jewelry 🙂 I did not realize supplies were limited
That’s what i need, i am rought on my jewelry, i never take them off
I really first saw this stone on the Home Shopping club when i was a kid! And i remember them dying how and what a are stone it is because it is only in part of the world so maybe after reading the article i may have to get one thing in Tanzinite before its gone to pass on to generations! its so pretty
Tanzanite has been my all time favorite stone for many years….many years…. I love tanzanite and diamonds together. really not much can compare to that. the deep colored stones are by far the most brilliant. I have a ring but I need to complete the set… lol… maybe my kids, after college, will get one for me while I finish paying off their school loans into my eighties.
This is my birthstone. Pretty
I LOVE Tanzanite!

Here’s one of my favorite rings with Tanzanite and diamonds.
So pretty! Love the purplish blue gem (and anything surrounded by diamonds typically looks good)
that’s real pretty
I like the darker purple
Gorgeous
This is totally gorgeous and I totally love rings. 🙂
I have heard of this one but am so surprised to learn it wasn’t discovered until the 1960’s.
This is my husbands and my moms birthstone. Its very pretty but not something i would wear daily
I have known about tanzanite for ATLEAST the last decade and been wearing it definitely one of my favs but can be pricey
This is so pretty and it is my youngest sons birthstone. Great information.
TOURMALINE
Birthstone Month
Tourmaline is one of the two gemstones associated with the month of October.
Zodiac
Being one of the two accepted birthstones for the month of October, Tourmaline is one of the zodiac gemstones for Libra and Scorpio.
History & Lore
The name Tourmaline is widely accepted as being derived from the Singhalese expression tura mali, which when translated means “stone of many or mixed colors”.
Tourmaline is often referred to as the rainbow gemstone, due to the huge amout of colors that it is available in. This was certainly believed by the ancient Egyptians who believed that when Tourmaline traveled from its home in the earth’s core to the surface, it did so along a rainbow, which subsequently gifted the gemstone with all of the colors of the rainbow.
Tourmalines exhibit piezoelectricity and when these stones become warm they become electrically charged – positively at one end and negatively at the other, acting like a magnet and strong enough to attract small particles of dust or ash. It is for this reason that the Dutch of old used Tourmalines to clean their pipes!
As with most gemstones, ancient civilizations credited Tourmaline gems with magical and mystical powers, including having the power to guard against danger and misfortune. Tourmalines are said to have an especially strong influence over friendship and love, lending permanance and stability to both.
Tourmaline gems help to amplify psychic ability / energy and are an excellent aid to increasing self- confidence and understanding. Tourmaline is believed to help assist with tranquil sleep, calm nerves, improve concentration and creative processes and to be an aid to curing cancer.
Availability
Tourmaline is a very widely available gemstone, with deposits occuring the world over. Whilst the occurance of very high quality, well-colored natural Tourmaline is rare, modern gemstone enhancements and treatments ensure that heat-treated natural Tourmalines are both available and priced at a level making them accessible to all.
Sources
There are known Tourmaline deposits throughout the world including, Afghanistan, Africa, Brazil, Italy, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Myanmar (Burma), Nigeria, Pakistan, Siberia, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and the United States (California, Connecticut, Maine and Utah).
Evaluation
A Tourmaline gemstone viewed from different angles will result in differing color intensities being visible. The only one thing that you can be sure of is that the deepest coloration will always be shown along the stone’s main axis. When selecting a Tourmaline, go with the color that you like but generally try to steer clear of any stone that is cut too dark.
Arguably the most desirable and valuable Tourmalines in today’s market are known as “Paraiba” Tourmaline. These are vivid deep blue to bluish-green in color and originate from the Paraiba state in Brazil. Expect to pay a premium for this variety.
There is also currently strong demand for the “Verdelith” Green Tourmaline and Pink Tourmaline (Pink Rubellite). Demand is also increasing expotentioally for many of the varieties of Bi, Tri and Multi-colored Tourmalines, most notably “Watermelon” Tourmaline, which are bi-colored stones with a green border enveloping a red center.
Common Cuts
Owing to the fact that Tourmaline crystals are long and narrow in shape Tourmaline gems are most commonly, although not exclusively cut into square or rectangular stepped shapes.
Routine Enhancement
ourmalines are often heat-treated in order to lighten colors and to remove “silk” (a form of natural imperfection / inclusion). Some colored Tourmalines actually transform into other Tourmalines (most commonly the Achroite Tourmaline variety), during this heating process.
Care & Cleaning
Use warm, soapy water and a soft brush to clean Tourmaline. Ultrasonic cleaners are generally safe. Never use chemicals such as hydrofluoric acid or ammonium fluoride to clean Tourmaline because it can erode the stone.
Much like many gemstones, Tourmaline should be kept away from prolonged exposure to extremes of heat and light as this can cause permanent color change.

well my hubby birthday is in October and mine is November that’s sure is a pretty
I LOVE this ring!
I think this ring would fly off the shelves!
I think it would to
It is a very interesting ring-Id have to agree with you Laura
Agreed
It sure is
Sooo prettty I wish my bday iwas in October
Beautiful Sooo prettty I wish my bday iwas in October
Thats amazing how the same stone can produce so many colors.
My husband does business in Brazil, so I got to join him on one trip many years ago. I recall going into H.Stern, on their behind the scenes tour, which is where I saw Tourmalines for the first time. I was stunned to see all the different colors, so beautiful….however, also so expensive. So I love the fact that you can also buy Tourmaline stones in sterling silver and it is 1/10 the price vs. set in gold.
I do agree with you, Linda, that stones could be afforded when bought in a sterling silver setting. Just look for something with quality to enjoy it every time you look at it and for many years ahead!
That what i was thinking
I have a pink tourmaline necklace, earring and ring set and I love it.
Ooo i bet thats pretty
This is mine and my hubby’s birthstones (we both have our birthdays next weekend a day apart) Ive always liked it (even though besides my birthstone…Ive never considered myself a pink fan 😉
lucky me I have an October baby 🙂 I also have a may baby… pretty emerald. I tried to push her out a day early so my “mothers ring” would have diamonds in it. lol. my hubby may have paid the doctor in to wait just after midnight to have this baby. little did he know emeralds aren’t cheap…. heee heee. last laugh on him.

SMOKY QUARTZ
Birthstone Month
Smoky Quartz is not associated with any particular birthstone month.
Zodiac
Smoky Quartz is associated with the zodiac signs of Capricorn and Sagittarius.
Chemical Make-Up
Smoky Quartz is a Silicon Dioxide and a macrocrystalline variety of the Quartz family.
History & Lore
There is not 100% agreement regarding the exact origins of the name Quartz, but the two most widely accepted opinions are that the word Quartz is derived from the Greek ‘krystallos’, meaning “ice”, or the German ‘quarz’.
Some of the earliest primitive tools fashioned by man some 2.5 million years ago, and discovered in the Omo valley in Ethiopia were made of Quartz. It is believed that Quartz was used because of its hardness and isotropic brittleness that made the fashioning of the tools relatively easy.
Chipped flint projectile points used for fire-making have been found on Mousterian sites in western Europe that date back around 40,000 years.
In addition to its use in tool-making, certain varieties of Quartz were used for divination. Spherical Quartz rock crystals were often shaped into crystal balls and used for disease diagnosis and awareness of events occurring in distant places.
More recently there was major production of synthetic Quartz during World War II. This synthetic Quartz was used to supply crystals for radios.
Smoky Quartz is believed to be a calm and comforting stone that can alleviate stress and transform negative emotions into positive energies. It is also said to provide clarity of thought, improve intuition and enhance survival instincts.
Physically Smoky Quartz is believed to help detoxify the body, improve fertility, and aid the proper functioning of the kidneys, adrenals, pancreas, and sex organs.
Availability
Smoky Quartz is somewhat abundant, making the price considerably less expensive than for other Quartz varieties. It is also abundantly available in large sizes, meaning a buyer in need of a large sized gem at a low budget will often choose Smoky Quartz.
Sources
Today, the vast majority of natural Smoky Quartz comes from Brazil. Smoky Quartz originating from Mount Cairngorm of Scotland where it is a favorite ornamental stone is called Cairngorm. There are also known deposits of natural Smoky Quartz in Australia, Madagascar, Spain, Switzerland, and the United States (Colorado).
Evaluations
Smoky Quartz is rated at 7 on the Moh’s Scale of Hardness making it a durable gemstone suitable for practically all jewelry applications. It’s smoky brown to almost black color is somewhat rare in the mineral world, with only a few other minerals alike in color being cut for gemstone purposes. The color of Smoky Quartz, whether it be natural or artificial, has been produced by exposure to irradiation.
Be weary of unscrupulous dealers selling gemstones that they claim are Smoky Topaz. There is no such gemstone named Smoky Topaz and it is illegal to misrepresent Quartz as being Topaz. Heat- treated Smoky Quartz can also be found on the market being sold more expensively as a brownish- yellow/orange Citrine.
Common Cuts
Smoky Quartz can generally be cut into all of the common gemstone shapes/cuts. It is also a popular stone for ornamental jewelry, being carved into spheres, pyramids, obelisks, eggs, figurines and ornate statues.
Routine Enhancements
Colorless Quartz is often irradiated to produce Smoky Quartz’s distinct color. Natural Smoky Quartz is also a product of irradiation, though this occurs in nature when rock crystal Quartz is exposed to natural radiation for long periods of time.
Care & Cleaning
Smoky Quartz is generally best cleaned using warm soapy water and a soft brush. As with most gemstones, Smoky Quartz should be kept away from household chemicals and from prolonged exposure to extremes of heat as this can cause damage or permanent changes in coloration. Smoky Quartz jewelry should be kept in a fabric-lined box away from other jewelry items in order to avoid damage / scratching.

interesting. smoky quartz should not be sold as smoky topaz. I just assumed it was sold that way based on their color. I love it. RAINBOW MOONSTONE
Birthstone Month
Moonstone is associated with the birthstone month of June.
Zodiac
Moonstone is not associated with any particular Zodiac sign.
Chemical Make-Up
Moonstone is a gem variety of orthoclase feldspar, known as potassium Aluminum silicate.
History & Lore
A symbolic substitute for the name Moonstone is “Selenite”, relating to the Greek goddess of the moon, Selene. Moonstone was popular with the Romans, believing it was formed out of the Moonlight.
In India it is considered to be a sacred and magical stone, bringing about pleasant and beautiful dreams and appreciated as a “dream stone.”
Moonstone was incorporated in the well-known classic Wilkie Collins novel “The Moonstone.” Collins was a friend and colleague of Charles Dickens and his 1868 novel “The Moonstone” remains to this day a masterpiece of English literature.
Moonstone was a favorite a hundred years ago during the Art Nouveau era. It had been used by the famous French Master Goldsmith Rene Lalique on numerous of his jewelry creations. These special creations can now only be found in museums or in collections.
Moonstone is associated with the heart chakra. It is said to enhance passion, sensitivity, intuition, physical abilities, and is said to bring good fortune. Moonstone is a stone of protection, protecting women and children, particularly during pregnancy and childbirth.
Physically, it is said to aid the wearer’s pituitary gland and aid digestive system and also to fight against obesity. The moonstone is also said to calm emotions and ease hormonal and menstrual problems.
Availability
Moonstone was once extremely popular, particularly in the time of Art Nouveau about a hundred years ago. Also in recent years it has seen an increase in demand, unfortunately Moonstone, particularly fine Moonstone, is becoming increasingly rare.
Sources
he valued bluish and nearly transparent Moonstones are most often found in Sri Lanka. There are also known deposits of Moonstones in Australia, Brazil, Germany, India, Madagascar, Mexico, Myanmar (Burma), Norway, Switzerland, Tanzania, and the United States.
Evaluations
Being that Moonstones are rated at a 6 on Moh’s Scale of Hardness, special care should be taken well wearing and well cleaning the stone because of tits fragility. That being said, small damages that may occur after prolonged usage can be corrected somewhat easily. This can be accomplished by having a jeweler polish the stone in such a way that will regain its adularescence.
Rainbow Moonstones are in fact colorless but exhibit a beautiful blue sheen and a rainbow-array of colors due to its schiller, or in relation to Moonstone, it’s adularescence. The origin of this phenomenal feature is its interior crystal structure. Orthoclase feldspar and albite are found in close association, arranged in layers. The incoming rays of light are reflected inside the stone and scattered.
The most valuable of Rainbow Moonstones are larger stones that exhibit strong adularescence and transparency with an intense blue sheen. Moonstones are become increasingly rare and because of this increasingly valuable which can make for a great gemstone investment.
Common Cuts
The phenomenon that gives this gemstone its importance is its schiller, which in relation with Moonstone has been given the name adularescence. The origin of this phenomenal feature is its interior crystal structure.
Orthoclase feldspar and Albite are often found in close association, arranged in layers. The incoming rays of light are reflected inside the stone and scattered.

Yes it is. Just gorgeous together
Love the moonstone just gorgeous
Im down with any stone that fights obesity 😉 What a gorgeous stone!!I was not familiar with moonstone before-however I think I just fell in love with it above.I like all things uncommon too so its rarity makes it extra special
Not only that, but you will love the way moonstones give off the most amazing colors – better than an opal but in a totally different way. They illuminate just like the moon! The natural stone sometimes has cracks in it which is just how it is naturally – as mother nature intended it. They can be really bright blue to pale blue, almost grey – really depends on the stone!
I think Ill use my June baby as an excuse to treat myself to one 😉 Never saw moonstone before but I think I am in LOVE
Agreed
It beautiful

Good morning and hello!
I love all kinds of stone’s love the pink ones and the rainbow ones
Wow there all so beautiful
I can’t retwet 🙁
The one tip I would say in general is to have a lucky gemstone piece of jewelry that you wear when you need extra good luck. Your birthstone is a good stone for that, but also if you were wearing a ring, earrings or necklace and something positive happened to you while wearing that piece, wear it again and see if positive things happen during the day for you. It has for me and now I have a favorite lemon topaz I wear when I know I need something extra!!
that’s good to know will have to try this
but u know I don’t even have a ring with my birth stone hmmm need to fix that
ok I have to leave for a while I will come back later to see the rst you all have a super day
Have a great day Karen!
I have one that my parents bought me when i wad a teenager, i just dont wear it often bc its yellow gold

Ble Sapphire is my birthstone but I love all the colors it comes in. My absolute favorite is Onyx-wonder what that says about me.
good luck to all! these are gorgeous stones and i love all the info thank you
I LOVE all the jewelry
I love Emeralds and Sapphires the most. I don’t have any jewelry right now except my wedding ring though!
I love precious and semi-precious stones. I always say that one day I’m going to have a piece in every kind. I have a loooooong way to go to get there though.
His sounds like a great party. Thank you for sharing.
My birthstone is turquoise, though personally I prefer amethyst since it comes in my favorite color. 🙂
I was born in April so my favorite is Diamond 🙂
I’m not really a jewelry person but Sitara Collections seems interesting! I’ll have to check it out.
I don’t wear a lot of jewelry, but I love that my wedding ring is a sapphire and not a diamond. Both my husband and I wear sapphires in our weddng rings because our birthdays are both in September. My other favorite gem stone is opal. I love the fiery colors.
You’re so right – I never really think of precious stones/gems as anything other than jewelry but there really are so many varieities.
How beautiful! My favorite is the diamonds.
Opal is my birthstone. It is definitely my favorite.
