What we decided to do this morning is to bring to you a compilation of tips in beauty for nails, skin, hair, special care for eyes and body. We’ve been collecting them from different sources online and found them useful, insightful and worthy our attention. Here they are, pick and choose what may work for YOU personally.

Good morning all. When I leave the house I try to put a lil make-up on but usually just eye liner. I am thinking about cutting my own hair today because it is so long.
I just cut my own hair last week. It’s been years since I got it cut. I found a blog that shows how to do it easy. Just put it in a ponytail, bend forward and pull your pony down and cut straight across. Depending on where your pony is will either make your layers short or long. A pony towards your forehead….shorter layers. Towards the nap of your neck…longer layers.
Hi. I try to squeeze in my beauty routine when ever I can. I cram as much into the time I have to get the most done. Like while in the shower wash my face so when I get out I can put on my rose water and creams right away. I am learning how to schedule more “take care of mommy” time into my life because I tend to focus on my family. And I miss my home pedi’s and a good face mask! lol

Stop flyaway hair! Spray Static Guard on your comb or brush. Or smooth an anti-static dryer sheet along your head.
Don’t let your hair get into your face while you sleep. The oil from your hair can cause acne.
When working out wear a headband that will absorb sweat. This means less sweat on your face and LESS acne!
An apple-cider vinegar rinse works like clarifying shampoo and leaves your hair with great shine.
Showering in water that is too hot can damage your hair and skin.
For shiny hair, mix one egg with a olive oil and apply to your hair. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes then shower.
The best way to get rid of ingrown hairs is to exfoliate, which rids the skin of dead cells and allows hair to break through the surface.
Always wash your face and body AFTER you shampoo and condition your hair b/c when it runs down your face/body it could break you out.
Instead of towel drying your hair, use an old t-shirt. Towels can make your hair frizzy and prone to breakage.
Use any hair oil like olive oil or coconut oil on damp hair. Applying oil or product on damp hair absorbs better.

Nice. I want to try the apple cider vinegar rinse. So many uses for that stuff.! And I’ll have to try the t-shirt drying trick. Never heard of that one.
FOOD/NUTRITION & BEAUTY RELATIONSHIPS
Eat foods daily rich in anti-oxidants such as strawberries as they have an anti-aging effect on skin.
Your nails are made up of protein. It is important that you have a proper intake of protein rich foods such as eggs, meat and beans.
Eat wheat germ each day to get rid of your pimples. Adding wheat germ to your cereal or yogurt.
For the most clear glowing skin drink WATER. Your body and skin crave it. Add flavor to it if you don’t like it.
Eat more eggs! It will help your hair grow long.
Snack on apples. Eat the apple with the skin on. This will help make your skin look healthy and smooth.
Chocolate is associated with the release of serotonin, the hormone that makes you feel relaxed, calm, and happy, but eat in moderation.
Have acne? Drinking a glass of lemon water each day helps to reduce blemishes!
Avoid salty foods. They can cause fluid retention and eye puffiness.
Vitamin C helps transform a dull complexion to a skin that’s radiantly glowing.
If you suffer from dry or chapped lips it could be due to your body being dehydrated. Drink WATER!
Blueberries are full of antioxidants and are perfect for fighting wrinkles.
Green Tea is beneficial for your oral hygiene, your immune system, your heart, and has antioxidants in it which keeps you looking young!
You need essential fatty acids found in avocados and salmon, because they will ultimately give you plumper and younger looking skin.
Cucumbers can be used for dark circles and swelling by the eyes. Slice cucumber and put over eyes, keeping them there for twenty minutes.
Thin apple slices rubbed onto oily skin will help in controlling the oily shine.
What you put into your body you get out of your body. Eat clean and have clear skin!
I read the line about the Blueberries and wrinkles and my mind went to putting them on my face!! I guess we are supposed to eat them right ? lol
I for got about the blood orange. I have yet to try it. Thanks for the reminder. I love blueberries and strawberries raw so this is awesome for me about the wrinkles.
I drink a ton of water but guess I need to drink more to see some effects. Chapped lips is a big issue for me. I love apples and guess I need to #1 eat them more and #2 try rubbing slices on my oily spots. Natural and easy. Oh yes….and wheat germ. Need to add that to the shopping list!
FASHION TIPS/TRICKS
When in doubt, wear nude pumps matched to your skin tone, they’re a pretty safe bet. And they make legs look longer.
Dark circles under eyes could be caused from lack of sleep or a vitamin deficiency – get cream w/ Vitamin K and use it!
If you have sensitive acne-prone skin, stay away from rich spicy foods, which only irritate and inflame your system.
Dry hair? Avocado and honey is a great mix for a deep conditioning hair treatment.
Wear flesh-colored underwear under white clothes or any outfit that is vaguely see-through.
The more of your neck that shows, the slimmer you will look.
Not sure which color polish to choose? Go for a milky pink color it’s a classic and goes with every outfit.
Great tips indeed. Avocado and honey I will have to try on my hair and if you add strawberries to mix you have a great concoction for a mask for your face too. I have been on a shimmer or sparkle kick lately for my nail polish with reds, pinks, and purples.
So I am going to try to show as much neck as humanly possibly!! lol I did actually weigh myself today and realized I’ve lost 20 pounds in the last few months!
COSMETICS, PART I
Even if you don’t wear make up always fill in your eyebrows. It gives you an instant face lift.
Clean out your makeup bag every 3 months. Get rid of products that may be expired or you no longer use. Old products cause breakouts.
If your skin is breaking out it may be time to wash your makeup brushes. Bacteria from the brushes OR sponges can cause breakouts.
Test foundation on your jawline- not your hand- to find the perfect match.
The best time to moisturize is right after the shower when your pores are still open
To revive dried up nail polish, add a few drops of polish remover.
If you donβt have nail polish remover, apply clear nail polish over and then wipe off. It will remove old polish easily
Can’t sleep? Use lavender essential oil in your bath. You will sleep like a baby.
Put your eye cream in the fridge for a few minutes before applying will help reduce puffy bags faster.
To perk up tired eyes, rub Aloe Vera gel to your lids and around the sides for a temporary firm look.
Apply pressed powder on and around your lips if your lipstick has a tendency to “bleed.”
Test new lipsticks on your fingertips because fingertips and lips have similar blood vessel concentration so they are closer in color.
Dab acne with nasal spray and Visine eye drops. They both will shrink blood vessels, thereby taking away the redness.
Unless your teeth are sparkling white, avoid coral and orange lipsticks. Instead, try red, pink or plum.
To fix puffy eyes or dark circles: Brew two green tea bags, and let them cool. Then lie down and place them over your eyes for 10 minutes.
Did you know that lip balm could be used to moisturize cuticles? Try some natural lip balms, the kinds with shea butter and vitamin E.
To hide a red pimple, tone down the red by using a green cover-up concealer.
Apply polish starting at the pinky, working toward the thumb to avoid dragging your hand across wet nails.
Olive oil can be massaged into the skin. Over time it makes your skin appear very toned.
Exfoliate your face with 1 kiwi. Peel and mash it, rub on face in circular motion for 60 secs.
For clear skin, look for a cleanser with Salicylic acid
Remove stubborn eye makeup with a dab of Vaseline.
To avoid making your eyes look smaller, only line the outer two-thirds of your lower lash line.
For long eyelashes, apply a thin coat of castor oil every night. It strengthens lashes and cools your eyes.
Massage a few drops of coconut oil around the eyes to get rid off dark circles.
Age spot or sun spot lighter- Equal parts- Lemon juice and apple cider vinegar. Mix and apply to skin. Do not rinse.
Cigarette smoke depletes your body of Vitamin C, which is a key Vitamin for keeping skin plump and wrinkle free!
Use an ice cube tray to freeze aloe vera into cubes for instant sunburn relief.
Aloe vera gel tightens pores and makes them appear smaller.
Apply Aloe vera regularly on your face to protect it from pollution, normal aging, and have a clear spotless skin.

I have to try some of these. I so dislike vinegare but even the vinegar and apple cider for age spots I have to try. I need to fill in my eyebrows because I don’t have to many at the end covers of my eyebrows. Thanks for the great tips Laura. π
Love applying aloe vera! We have a plant in our backyard. I’ll have to try the visine trick for pimples. I do need to go through my make up again and clean out. And great tip on filling in the brows. Makes a HUGE difference for me since my eyebrows have thinned a lot in the last few years.
COSMETICS, PART II
When applying bronzer, don’t forget to soften the line and put some under your chin and down your neck!
Try and apply your make-up in natural light, as you will achieve a cleaner look! Put your mirror in the window or beside it!
Sleep on your back as much as possible..sleeping on your face can wrinkle the skin and age skin at a faster rate.
Olive & almond oil are rich in essential fatty acids which help strengthen dry & cracked nails
Use a eye cream before applying concealer.. it will make the skin around your eyes appear smoother.
Castor oil is great for stretch marks. Apply it daily for 4 weeks to see noticeable changes.
For cellulite add some coffee powder to your moisturizing lotion. Rub for 5 mins each day.
Look for anti -aging creams that have vitamin A and E to keep wrinkles away!
To make your nose appear smaller, apply bronzer carefully down the sides. Add a little shimmer creme or powder down the bridge of your nose.
A strong lip color is an easy way to draw attention away from imperfections. It lessens the visual impact of both acne and tired eyes. —> THAT TIP IS A SAVIOR!
Grab a few toilet seat covers to cut up into 2-inch squares. These are great for soaking up excess oil on your face.
Never apply makeup before blow-drying your hair. The heat from the dryer can make you sweat and cause your makeup to smudge.
The color of powder eyeshadow can be made to look more intense by dipping your eyeshadow brush in water first.
Add rose water and coconut oil to a warm bath. Soak for 20 minutes, then rinse. Beautifies and softens your skin.
Apply ice to acne to reduce redness.
Shea butter softens skin, reduces inflammation and improves the appearance of scars and other discolorations.
Hands age fast! Use a slice of lemon and rub it on the back of your hands. This will lighten any age spots and prevent future ones!
