Water Is The Best Source for Hydration Ever! What’s In Your Water?

Nobody could predict that bottled water would become one of the top highest sellers in the world! I remember hearing jokes about the idea of selling bottled water. Look what’s happening these days.

As the world around is becoming more polluted, we turn to a cleaner sources of drinking and even bathing water.

Obviously, we are seeking sources that provide an eco alternative of recycling and water consumption. Instead of buying plastic bottles with the most desirable liquid in the world WATER, we are using our recyclable bottles and mega water cans in our homes.

Filters are a great addition to our purifying efforts.

Still there are a lot of people who do not have extra funds and tools to keep their drinking and bathing water as clean as it should be. And if you can afford that extra step, here are the reason WHY you gotta move to these alternatives sooner than later.

    Hormones and Drug By-Products
“How’d they get in there? Every time you pop a pill—whether it’s a Tylenol or Xanax— traces of it come out in your pee. And (ick alert!) that urine can eventually find its way back into our tap water. Scientists haven’t yet figured out how to remove most drug by-products from water.

Harmful effects “Traces of things like aspirin probably aren’t a big deal,” says Solomon. However, the presence of prescription drugs “may contribute to the growth of antibiotic-resistant illnesses like MRSA, and hormones from meds like birth-control pills could be affecting pregnant women and their babies in ways we don’t know yet.”

Your action plan Filters are fairly useless against drug residuals. So for now, just sit tight: The Environmental Protection Agency is assessing what regulatory action to take.”

THERE ARE STUDIES THAT POINT OUT THAT:
    – Hormones and drug by-products in our drinking water sources are the reasons for Obesity (disruption of our hormone system, its disbalance lead to to obesity, as the body becomes “confused” with the additional drugs we consume involanterily via our drinking water sources)
    – More Fish with FEMALE gender is found than MALE –> again it is pointed out that our water sources like rivers are immensely polluted with drugs by-products flushed through the toilet and who knows how in addition to that. You guess.

Wow.very interesting. .and adding a filter to to the faucet wont help?

    • wendy c g says

      That just grossed me out.

    • wow, thats totally gross!

    • constance ralph says

      Yes, it is gross

    • Rebecca Swenor says

There was also a study done on the hormones and extra stuff to make the plasitcs. Each plastic container etc has a number on the bottom usually with a triangle around it. I don’t remember the bad numbers but I have 5 in my head for being good to use. So think twice before you keep using them and not throwing them away after a couple uses. I seen this on the Today show a few years ago.

      • Karen Hinkle says

yes it is gross but this has being going on for years and now with more pollution in our environment it has gotten wrose

    • WOW, That sounds so bad.. I wonder if its in your water because of the water source we use here in the mountains of WV.

    • Kelly Hubbard says

I have been telling people for years about dumping stuff down the toilet I am scared for our enviorment.. I really am

    • Elicia P says

This is where I through my hands up. I am done. Bring me a unpolluted spring where us humans who must destroy everything have not touched.

Bacteria In our Drinking Water Sources

“How’d they get in there? Gnarly bacteria like E. coli can make their way into water from human and animal waste that runs into reservoirs from broken pipes and sewage systems.

Harmful effects “Just a tiny bit of bacteria can make you sick,” says Suzanne R. Steinbaum, D.O., an internist in New York City. The last time you had a “24-hour stomach bug,” it was likely caused by waterborne bacteria. Most people recover quickly, but pregnant women can be laid up for days.

Your action plan Purifiers nix most bacteria. But if your immune system is compromised, first boil your water for five minutes.”

Interesting. .never thought to blame the water. .usually the food gets it

    • wendy c g says

Oh my, this is not good. I always blamed food. However this makes sense.

    • i get tummy bugs a lot. when i was first pregnant – b4 i knew, i had an awful one that lasted over a week… i guess thats why. though i was drinking spring water only then…

    • Rebecca Swenor says

I believe this winter I got sick from the water because pipe all around here kept busting along with freezing and they were digging up everywhere to fix them.

      • Karen Hinkle says

well never thought about the boiling water before but it makes scence to do it and I am not a real big water drinker but I do not get sick much either HMM

    • Were I live our water comes from a underground cave and pumped into a water plant. They clean the water but, I wonder how well the purify the water.

    • I wonder how well are water treatment plants purify our water.

    • Kelly Hubbard says

if i drink the water from home I get so so sick.. Now it makes sense

    • Elicia P says

I honestly take a probiotic every day just to help kill whatever is bad in my tummy. I hope it works. But yes, even the times when your tummy is feeling bad and you have the “runs” this too is a type of food poisoning. Just not as severe.

    Lead In Your Drinking Water

“How’d it get in there? Water facilities strip out nearly all traces of the heavy metal, but if you live in a home built before 1975, chances are you have pipes that contain lead, which can leach into your water.

Harmful effects Even a small amount is bad news; lead can trigger irritability, anemia, and nerve damage. Women trying to conceive should be especially careful: Lead poisoning can cause miscarriage and a host of fetal problems.

Your action plan Lead can seep into water that’s been sitting stagnant in pipes, “so run your tap for two minutes to flush it out,” says James M. Symons, M.D., author of Plain Talk About Drinking Water. (Rather than waste that water, use it to wash your hands or the dishes.)”

    Chlorine In Your Drinking Supply

“How’d it get in there? Most treatment plants dose tap water with chlorine to kill things like parasites and viruses found naturally in freshwater sources.

Harmful effects In small doses, chlorine is literally a lifesaver: It zaps dangerous contaminants. But studies show that long-term exposure to chlorine by-products can lead to miscarriage or birth defects, says Gina Solomon, M.D., a senior scientist at the Natural Resources Defense Council.

Your action plan Chlorine by-products evaporate naturally, so let your glass of tap sit for five minutes before drinking it. Another option: Buy an inexpensive charcoal filter (a freestanding pitcher, a faucet attachment, or a built-in fridge device).”

Check this article what happened with the water supply in West Virginia.
This situation is not unique, sadly.

Good luck, going in my daughter’s class to volunteer. Have a great day and weekend.

  15. Without water we would not survive-our bodies need it–constantly–Wars have been started over it and still are to this day. It would be wonderful if world wide we had clean drinking water but those days are way gone–Filters do help somewhat—-
